This week Year 2 loved their trip to Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery where they painted self-portraits and explored artefacts to learn more about Florence Nightingale’s life. Did you know she had a pet owl? We also went on a nature walk to learn about evergreen or deciduous trees.
Year 3 have had a visit from the Animal Man this week and were able to get up close with a range of animals and some even managed to conquer their fears!
Mrs King’s class spent a little bit more time outdoors visiting the park for their BeSMART treat and enjoying an Easter treat.
We hope you all have a lovely Easter break and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday 8th April.

Year 6 achievers: Vincent for excellent presentation and making fantastic progress in writing. Harrison for his contributions and resilient nature shown in class discussions 😊
Year 5 achievers: Â Seb for writing, filming and editing a fantastic newspaper report, working brilliantly with his peers. Natalia for fantastic creativity in art lessons- she has shown she could be a future fashion designer!
Year 4 achievers: Cayden for being a resilient, happy and polite member of our class, even when things get tricky! Erin for being an all-round superstar and for beautiful presentation in all lessons.
Year 3 achievers: Brandon for his bravery and enthusiasm during the Animal Man visit. Isabelle for being a fantastic friend and having the courage to try new things.
Year 2 achievers:  Ezra for trying his best to improve his handwriting, adding more to his writing and for being kind to everyone. Mrs King’s achiever has a brilliant attitude to learning! He has had exceptional recall of our Geography and History topics this term and is linking knowledge in incredible non-fiction writing. I am so proud of his work.
Year 1 achievers: Miss Hill’s achiever was chosen for always trying hard and making great progress this half term.  Emily for her brilliant effort in phonics this week, reading lots of words with her new sounds in.

Year 4 readers: Jake for reading at home 4 times this week. Emilia for showing outstanding comprehension of what she reads and of what is read to her.
Year 3 readers: Maisie for her sheer dedication towards reading! Phoebe for her wonderful reading at home which has sparked her imagination to start writing her own book that she has shared with us this week.
Year 2 readers: Jack is Mrs King’s star reader for his growing love for reading. He is such an active member of her reading group and is making brilliant progress as a result. Robyn for her love of reading which has enhanced her writing.
Year 1 readers: Isabel for great reading at home and always answer her challenge from Mrs Wilmot. Mayra for reading consistently at home and writing lots herself in her diary.
