Our trip to Hoo Zoo

Today we went on a trip to Hoo Zoo because we are learning about ‘Humans and Animals’ in our science lessons.

We had the most fantastic day. We met lots of different types of animals, some dinosaurs and we even got a play on the park.

We will all sleep well tonight.

Newdale Families – Religion Census October 2021

We hope you have all settled back into the school routines for this academic year. My name is Miss McCullagh and this year I will be co-ordinating Religious Education at Newdale.

To help us understand more about our families, we would really like an updated picture of the different religions, beliefs and values held by the children, and families, within our Newdale community. This will support us in ensuring that our Religious Education offer is as inclusive as possible for our community.

We would be really grateful if you could spend 5 minutes completing the survey below, by Tuesday 19th October.

Thank you in advance, for you support 😊

Harvest cooking

This week Year 1 have been learning about Harvest. We have been discussing where our food comes from, how it is grown and how it is harvested. We talked about how  during Harvest we thank God for this food and how we share our food with others.
This morning we have been very busy cooking cheese and vegetable muffins.

World Mental Health Day: Reminder 🧠 🟡

This year, Newdale would like to join thousands of schools, offices and communities on Friday, 8th October by taking part in YoungMinds campaign #HelloYellow and help to raise vital funds to support their work. We all struggle with how we’re feeling sometimes and it’s normal to have ups and downs. We appreciate that the colour ‘yellow’ may not be a staple in everybody’s wardrobe so this year we have decided to rebrand the event, #HelloBright!

On Friday 8th October (this Friday), we would like to invite all children to wear their brightest accessory alongside their usual school uniform. We will also be collecting voluntary donations for the charity if you would like to donate please log on to Parent Pay. So let’s dig out our neon socks, rainbow scarf and banana hat and let’s show young people they’re not alone with their mental health!

Because a little dash of brightness goes a long way 🙂
