This week we come to the end of what has been a wonderful year! We are all so proud of what your children have achieved and would like to wish you all a very happy summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming those coming back in September on Tuesday 3rd September. To those moving on to their new schools, we wish you every success and happiness, and remember, as Miss Cook says, ‘once a Newdaler, always a Newdaler.’

EYFS/KS1 winners are Miss Lowe’s Year 2 class with a fabulous 96%
KS2 winners are Mrs Everall’s Year 4 class with a superb 97%.

Achievers of the YEAR – these children have stood out, not because of their ability, but because of their progress and hard work, their attitude towards learning, their desire to be a great school citizen, and many other great reasons. One thing is for sure – they have made their teachers and their class proud:
Year 6 achievers: Olivia for being so caring and smiley all year. Gracie for being such a fabulous member of the class all year.
Year 5 achievers: Isabella for being a great role model to her peers this year by having a great attitude to learning whilst also being kind and considerate at all times. Harry for great progress in Maths, literacy and with his contributions in class
Year 4 achievers: Charlie for always trying his best in every subject, having impeccable manners, a positive attitude and showing kindness to others. Amalia for her wonderful sense of curiosity and for doing her best to make school enjoyable for everyone, every day.
Year 3 achievers: Noah for always being a BeSMART role model and because he has made a super effort to make sure he has come into school this whole term and by doing so has improved across all subjects. Phoebe for producing outstanding work all year and sharing her incredible knowledge with the class confidently.
Year 2 achievers: Lexi for brightening our day with her lovely smile and kindness, trying her very best in all that she does, improving and making progress in all subjects, tackling every challenge with an ‘I can and I will’ mindset and just by being Lexi. Jessica for gaining the confidence and maintaining a positive attitude to work all year. She has worked incredibly hard at home and in school and she’s made super progress.
Year 1 achievers: Tobias for being an exceptional role mode to his peers, producing high quality work and always showing kindness to others. Dola for always being a role model to her peers, making school enjoyable for her friends and her teachers and being an absolute delight to have had in our class this year – we are so proud of you Dola!
Readers of the YEAR – these children have ALL been given a new book to enjoy for their reading both in and out of school throughout the year. They have made super progress due to their hard work and efforts:
Year 6 readers: Lucas for a year of outstanding reading effort and humour – thank you! Chloe for her dedication to reading at least 5 times and always making detailed comments.
Year 5 readers: Whitney for consistently going above and beyond with her reading comments this year. Her love of reading really shines through. Reyhan for consistently impressing with his desire to improve and showing a real love for reading.
Year 4 readers: Callum for his love of his books and enjoyment of reading. Mrs Everall’s reader was chosen for showing great progress this year with her home reading.
Year 3 readers: Cerys for showing a wonderful enthusiasm towards everything book related! You truly are a little book worm! Paisley is reader of the year for Mr. Banfield’s class. She has worked so hard on her reading at home and researching topics! Well done Paisley!
Year 2 readers: Eden for finding a love for reading this year. He has made huge progress and independently reads and writes his own comments. Well Done, Eden! Chimzy for her incredible effort in reading at home all year. Ms Marshall has loved reading all your comments and answering all your questions today.
Year 1 readers: Lucy for showing great enthusiasm towards reading all year and challenging herself to reader more difficult texts. Miss Buckingham’s reader was chosen for reading consistently every day and recording everything herself in her diary! Mrs Goodwin and I are so proud of you.
