Newdale’s BeSMART Song…

As you all know, at Newdale we follow the BeSMART code. Well now, we have a BeSMART song that Miss Jones has kindly written for us! All of the children have been introduced to the lyrics to our very own song in assembly today and loved it!

Over your half-term break, please practise our lyrics and enjoy a sing song at home. You can impress your classes with how much you know when you return.

The song is sung in the tune to Shotgun, by George Ezra. Please find below the lyrics and the link to a karaoke backing track.

Year 6- Harvest Festival

Year 6 researched how the USA and UK celebrate Harvest. We researched the Harvest Festival in the UK and Thanksgiving in the US. We also drew pumpkins using oil pastel. The pumpkin is the symbol which represents harvest.

We discussed how the Harvest Festival of Thanksgiving is a celebration of the harvest and food grown on the land. It is about giving thanks for a successful crop yield over the year as winter starts to approach. The festival is also about giving thanks for all the good and positive things in our lives such as family and friendships.
