Jumping Orange Words

Just a gentle reminder we will be testing the children on their jumping orange words on Monday 16th December .

Please can you continue to practise these words with your children this week :

Year 1 Spelling Test

Children will be tested on their Jumping Orange Words on Monday 21st October. We will stick their spelling record in their home school communication book so you are able to see their results. Here is a reminder of the spellings we will be testing them on:

Friendly reminder- Year 1 Spelling Test.

Good evening,

Please spend time practicing the following spellings in preparation for our spelling test before the end of half term:

Welcome to Year 1!

We are really looking forward to seeing you back in school on 5th September!

Here is some information about Year 1 to help you to settle into your new class: Year 1 group cover letter -PDF

PE days will be Tuesday and Thursday. Please send your child into school tomorrow with their PE Kit on.

Forest School will be on Friday- more information is in the attached letter.

Summer term ☀️

In the summer term, our PE and Forest School days have changed:

Tuesdays – Forest School

Wednesdays – Indoor PE (Cricket)
Thursdays – Outdoor PE (Athletics)

As we head into the warmer months, please ensure your child brings in their water bottle everyday.

Homework

Your child was given a log in for Numbots and a parents’ guide on how to use this. The games are great for quick recall of number facts! We will be looking at the leaderboard each week to see who has been a Marvellous Mathematician 🌟

After the Easter holidays, we will be starting weekly spellings (these are in addition to the Jumping Orange Words at the end of every half term).

We hope you all have a lovely break over the Easter holidays 🐣

Yr1 Spellings – Spring 2

We will be completing a spelling test before the Easter holidays, please practise these once a week in reading diaries. The following words are ‘red’ words or tricky spellings which do not follow a phonetic rule that children know.
