Our Nursery

Newdale NurseryNewdale Nursery is part of Newdale Primary School and opened in September 2012 (previously Sure Starters Nursery).
The nursery is located at the front of the school and offers an ideal environment in which children may develop in safe nurturing surroundings. There are separate areas for younger toddlers (Ladybugs) and pre-school (Mighty Oaks), catering for children from two to four years of age. There is a secure outside play area and on site parking accessed at certain times of the day.

We have the expertise of Newdale Primary’s Early Years Co-ordinator and teacher who plans our Pre-School Curriculum through the Foundation Stage and Early Learning Goals.   We have an early years teacher in both morning and afternoon sessions.

The Nursery is Term Time only and opens at 7:45 am and closes at 6:00 pm  Monday to Friday each week . Exact dates are published in the nursery calendar each year.  We close for 5 staff training days over the school year.

Nursery bookings

Parent/carers can book up to 2 weeks of holiday (pro rata) free of charge. For holiday bookings/change to sessions/cancellations,  we  require 2 weeks notice.

Tree-iffic Tuesday’s

P.E, Forest learning, drama and cooking sessions

In the Forest Learning sessions where the children are taken outside to a nature area where we carry out activities, we provide waterproofs but we need you to provide wellies, coats, gloves and scarfs.

Cooking sessions are done in the Nursery. Children experience these sessions on a rota and by the end of the year have experienced them all.
