Nursery Activities Monday 8th June

Good morning nursery, we hope you have had a lovely weekend!

Our whole school theme for this week will be ‘outdoor learning’, first up today we have some fun exercise challenges! Fingers crossed for some sunshine, but if not we can always adapt. We know our nursery friends love a bit of puddle jumping :)

Numicon Challenge

Good afternoon nursery :)

As it is Thursday again, here is your next Numicon challenge.

Can you begin to show an understanding of ‘one more’?

For example: I have 5 blocks and I represent it with the 5 Numicon. I then decide to add a block. What do I need to do to the Numicon to represent the new block number?

I have attached a Numicon number line to support a visual aid.

You could extend this challenge to ‘one less’. You could also look at using different pieces to represent your number.

We hope you are finding these challenges useful.

Nursery Activities Monday 1st June

Good morning nursery, we hope you have all had a lovely half term. The sunshine has been glorious!

As you will know, nursery return to setting today which means all nursery staff will return too. However, as some of our nursery children will be staying at home for a little longer, we will continue with our suggested home activities as best as we can.

Our school theme this week will be ‘history’, so nursery will follow a similar path. Please see below for today’s suggested activities:

Friday-22nd-May-Activity

We hope you all have a lovely half term, hopefully enjoying the sunshine and as always, keeping safe!

The nursery staff are looking forward to seeing the children that have said they will return to setting after half term, and continue to send lots of love and virtual hugs to all our families.

Take care.

Numicon Challenge

Good afternoon all,

It’s time for this weeks fun Numicon challenge :)

Butterfly 2 x A4

Chick 2 x A4

Flower 2 x A4

The idea is to support the children to place the matching Numicon shapes onto the posters to complete the outlines of a butterfly, chick and flower (These will print on 2xA4 pieces of paper to allow the Numicon shapes to fit onto the pictures).

Do they notice the shapes and patterns in the pictures?

If you do not have a printer, maybe you could draw your own?
