Stem Day

As part of stem day we enjoyed designing and making our own musical instruments and made our own band.

Year 1 Music and DT

On Monday we spent some of our time singing and making healthy sandwiches. So much fun!

Wednesday Wheelie Day

As we will be having Wheelie day as part of our Year 1 Smart Cup Treat. There will not be Forest School. Many thanks Year 1

Year 1 Stem Day

Just a gentle reminder to say please can the children bring in a piece of recycling (box, tin, jar etc) that we can use to make a musical instrument tomorrow.

Many thanks The Year 1 Team

Year 1 Stem Day

As part of stem day on Tuesday 15th July, Year 1 are going to be making their own musical instruments. Please can we ask that children each bring in one piece of recycling and that is has your child’s name on it.  Here are a few examples:

  •  A small cardboard box( tissue boxes are ideal)
  • paper plate/ paper bowl
  • a small plastic bottle
  • a small jar
  • a tin can( with no sharp edges)

Please see below a few examples of the instruments we may make

Our Roarsome day at Dudley Castle and Zoo

What a wonderful day Year 1. Your behaviour was impeccable and you had so much fun exploring the castle grounds and zoo. A massive thank you to our parent helpers too. I bet you will sleep well tonight! Thank you all for a super day .

Year 1Trip Reminders for tomorrow

Here are a few pieces of key information for our Dudley zoo trip on Wednesday 2nd July.

  • The children will leave for the trip after the start of the school day and will return before home time.
  • Children are required to wear school uniform , a waterproof coat and sensible, comfy shoes( trainers are allowed) as the Castle and Zoo are all outdoors.
  • Please can each child bring into school their own backpack. They will each be carrying their own water bottle, waterproof coat, sun cream, sun hat and packed lunch.

Many thanks for your cooperation. We are really looking forward to it.

Regards Mrs Evans and Miss Fisher

Year 1 Forest School

We are very fast approaching the end of term. We will only be having Forest School on Wednesday 25th June, Wednesday 9th July and Wednesday 16th July. Instead of children being required to bring in a full kit, we just ask for you to send them with a waterproof coat and trainers or if you are happy for them to wear school shoes these will be fine. If we have very heavy rain, we will find an alternate activity to do inside.

Many thanks the Year 1 Team
