Advice for what to do if your child is experiencing mental health issues.

If you are concerned about your child’s mental health in school, please inform our school Sendcos or the inclusion team. You can contact them using the following email addresses; Newdale.SENDco@taw.org.uk and Newdale.Inclusion@taw.org.uk.

They can then work with you and your child to decide the next appropriate action. This may be to do a mental health referral to Bee U for support, or advising parents to seek emergency mental health support. You can also access this through your GP.

If you are worried your child is in crisis and experiencing significant emotional or mental distress, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, ‘option 2’.

This service offers advice and support 24/7.

You can find more information about where to get mental health support here;

If your child has received a mental health diagnosis from a professional, please ensure this is reported to school as soon as possible, so we can work together to support your child.
