Achievement Assembly

Friday 8th May 2026 

This week Year 2 took part in a Florence Nightingale workshop where they learnt about artefacts related to her, learnt how to make herbal medicines and even how to bandage each other! The children represented Newdale brilliantly. 

Achievers of the week: 

Year 6 achievers: Alexey for his hard work in SATs revision sessions. Riley for excellent attitude to learning.  

Year 5 achievers:  Matilda for beautiful presentation and paying close attention to detail in her literacy and geography work.  

Year 4 achievers: Hansini for accurate speech punctuation and using a variety of interesting speech verbs in her writing. Mr Stubb’s achiever for fantastic effort in her literacy this week, working really hard on her handwriting. 

Year 3 achievers: Mrs Churm’s achiever for showing off amazing ukulele skills and being brave enough to show the whole class! Miss Watson’s achiever for settling into class quickly and showing he is ready to learn.  

Year 2 achievers: Evelyn for being a super role model to her friends during the Florence Nightingale workshop and representing Newdale amazingly. Caden for his incredible knowledge for our Florence Nightingale workshop yesterday.  

Year 1 achievers: Mattias for being polite and caring to others.  Lucas for working hard on his ‘Chance to Shine’ and remembering the important things needed in a sentence.  

Year R achievers: Safa for excellent progress in phonics and handwriting. Freya for a wonderful week, working so hard in phonics and in her writing. Well done 😊  

Times Tables  

Mrs Everall’s class win the TTRS trophy this week for the most daily minutes per active player. Well done! 

 

House Points 

Ironbridge are now in the lead with an impressive 647 house points gained in weeks 3 and 4. They are followed by Wenlock with 574 points, Wrekin with 545 and Severn with 397. Well done, everyone!
