This week KS1 children enjoyed their school disco after school – thank you to the staff for running this fabulous event and we can’t wait for the KS2 disco next week on Thursday 21st May. A big well done to the year 6 children for working incredibly hard in their SATs this week – we are all very proud of them!
Achievers of the week:
Year 6 achievers: Kian for his superb efforts in his collage of an Ancient Greek landscape. Mrs Arthur’s achiever for his excellent attitude to learning.
Year 5 achievers: Maisie for a real boost of confidence recently which has led to great progress in her learning and some fabulous work. Hilal for amazing work and achievement with his phonics moving up to Grey books.
Year 4 achievers: David for an excellent science investigation and asking fantastic questions related to the digestive system. Retal for using her super sewing skills to join fabric and help others in our DT lessons this week.
Year 3 achievers: Daniel for taking time to think about his word choices and using wonderful manners, we love your kindness! Libby for always being kind and respectful and trying her hardest with her writing.
Year 2 achievers: Mia for trying so hard to write independent sentences in Literacy and Chance to Shine. We’re so proud of you! Willow for her incredible effort and progress in reading and writing. Willow is joining guided reading groups after half term and has made outstanding progress in her latest chance to shine. We are incredibly proud of her!
Year 1 achievers: Miss Lowe’s achiever for her incredible enthusiasm in our dance lessons during PE. Lexie for being an ‘always’ child. Always working hard, always being kind, respectful and polite and always ready to learn. Well done, Lexie.
Year R achievers: Kaja for being an excellent role model in class and challenging herself continually to improve. Adrian for a smiley, happy week coming into school and working hard as always!
Readers of the week – these children were entered into our weekly reading raffle:
Year 6 readers: All of our wonderful year 6 team and their amazing effort with the reading paper in SAT’s this week. Very well done!
Year 5 readers: Isabelle for hitting her reading target this week with interesting reads. Mrs Haymour’s star reader for always putting effort into his answers and summaries by including using grammar skills taught.
Year 4 readers: Ezra – for regular reading at home and always writing a detailed comment in his reading diary. Gabi for reading every day this week and doing a brilliant VIPERS.
Year 3 readers: Bella for writing her own story based on her reading! McCauley for putting in lots of effort in writing in his reading diary.
Year 2 readers: Alisha for her brilliant answers to the question stickers in the reading diary. We are so impressed with your reading at home! The star reader form Miss Squires class for reading every day and always answering the questions every week, we love your drawings.
Year 1 readers: Noah because he is reading at home every night. Hilda for reading consistently every night and writing her own comments in her diary.
