Year 3 – books going home

Please could your child bring in some carrier bags this week, so that we can start sorting the school books out to go out next week.

Thank you 😊

Change of PE next week

Just for next week, there will be a slight change of days to PE:

Tuesday (1st July) – gymnastics as normal

Wednesday (2nd July) – cricket

There will be no PE on Friday (4th July).

Thank you,

Year 3 😊

Wheelie Day – Healthy Lifestyles Week

Next half term, we will be kicking off with Healthy Lifestyles Week.

Your child can come dressed in their PE kit everyday (navy t-shirt, navy/black shorts or joggers, navy jumper/hoodie and trainers).

On Tuesday 3rd June, we will have our Wheelie Day. Your child can bring in their bike or scooter and must bring in a helmet in order to join in.

You can leave your child’s bike or scooter behind the Reception shed, between the two gates as you walk in to school (where Buddy Bear used to stand!), first thing in the morning. Please ensure your child does not ride on these as they enter school, due to the large amount of people walking around.

Thanks,

Year 3 team

Year 3 Art Day project

For our Art Day project after half term, we are going to create our own music video to ‘Pompeii by Bastille’, which is linked to our Ancient Romans topic. We have started practising the song today: Bastille – Pompeii (Lyrics)

Do you have any Roman soldier clothes or togas to dress up in? Could you create a volcano picture or sculpture? Could you create some dance moves to match the lyrics?

Over half term holiday, either have a go at creating or thinking of ideas for our music video! We can’t wait to see what amazing ideas you can think of.

Please bring items (must be named) in after the half term week (week beginning 2nd June)

Thank you,

Year 3 team

We will complete a spelling test on these at the end of the half term.

PE next half term

Our PE days for the next half term will be:

Tuesdays – Gymnastics (indoors)

Fridays – Cricket (outdoors)

Please ensure your child wears the correct PE uniform (names labelled) on these days.

Many thanks,

Year 3 team

Happy Easter Holidays!

We hope you have a lovely two weeks off (hopefully enjoying some lovely sunshine!) We can’t wait to hear about what you have all been up to when you come back on Monday 28th April.

Don’t forget to keep practising your spellings, times tables (Times Table Rockstars) and reading lots! We have noticed a slight dip in these the last couple of weeks and want to try to get these back up again ready for the Summer term.

We would also love to hand out more pen licences, so please practise handwriting at all opportunities.

Have a lovely two week break everyone!

Class photos tomorrow!

Hello,

Just a reminder that we have our class photos tomorrow (Thursday). Please send your child in to school in their school uniform.

They can bring their PE kits in a bag and get changed ready for their PE lesson.

Many thanks,

Year 1 team

Summer term ☀️

In the summer term, our PE and Forest School days have changed:

Tuesdays – Forest School

Wednesdays – Indoor PE (Cricket)
Thursdays – Outdoor PE (Athletics)

As we head into the warmer months, please ensure your child brings in their water bottle everyday.

Homework

Your child was given a log in for Numbots and a parents’ guide on how to use this. The games are great for quick recall of number facts! We will be looking at the leaderboard each week to see who has been a Marvellous Mathematician 🌟

After the Easter holidays, we will be starting weekly spellings (these are in addition to the Jumping Orange Words at the end of every half term).

We hope you all have a lovely break over the Easter holidays 🐣
