Please send your child in their school uniform.

1.10.25 – EKO Outdoor Learning Sessions

We are very much looking forward to our first EKO Outdoor Learning sessions on Wednesday 1st October, which is fast approaching!

The children will need to come to school in their outdoor clothes to save getting changed. Children will need:

  • Suitable old clothing e.g. T-shirt, jumper and trousers/leggings
  • A warm coat – this may get muddy
  • Wellies
  • Waterproofs – trousers and jacket
  • Old pair of warm trousers (if no waterproofs)
  • Spare trainers to change into after the session

Thank you,

Year 3 team

26.9.25 – European Days of Languages

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday 26th September we will be celebrating European Day of Languages across Newdale. Year 3 have been allocated Denmark to explore for the day. We will be completing Danish themed activities in class on that day and children may come into school wearing red and white clothing to signify the Danish flag.

Thanks,

The Year 3 Team

Welcome back!

Welcome to your new Year 3 class! We are so excited to start the year together and know we will have so much fun. We hope you all had a lovely summer break and are all well rested for the exciting new term ahead.

Before the summer holidays, your child was given a transition pack containing all the information you need.

PE days are Monday (outdoor) and Thursday (indoor) for Autumn 1.

If you have any queries, please email: newdale.year3team@taw.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning 😊

Year 3 – Art gallery on Thursday

On Thursday 10th July, we will be holding our Art Gallery in the hall.

It will run 2:45pm until 3:10pm.

At the end, we will be taking the class back to their classrooms, so they can collect their belongings and we will be dismissing them from the classroom as normal.

If we could please ask for adults to exit the back of the hall when they have finished looking at the art gallery and then enter school through the gates as normal to collect their child at the classroom doors.

Thank you 😊

Year 3 – books going home

Please could your child bring in some carrier bags this week, so that we can start sorting the school books out to go out next week.

Thank you 😊

Change of PE next week

Just for next week, there will be a slight change of days to PE:

Tuesday (1st July) – gymnastics as normal

Wednesday (2nd July) – cricket

There will be no PE on Friday (4th July).

Thank you,

Year 3 😊

Wheelie Day – Healthy Lifestyles Week

Next half term, we will be kicking off with Healthy Lifestyles Week.

Your child can come dressed in their PE kit everyday (navy t-shirt, navy/black shorts or joggers, navy jumper/hoodie and trainers).

On Tuesday 3rd June, we will have our Wheelie Day. Your child can bring in their bike or scooter and must bring in a helmet in order to join in.

You can leave your child’s bike or scooter behind the Reception shed, between the two gates as you walk in to school (where Buddy Bear used to stand!), first thing in the morning. Please ensure your child does not ride on these as they enter school, due to the large amount of people walking around.

Thanks,

Year 3 team

Year 3 Art Day project

For our Art Day project after half term, we are going to create our own music video to ‘Pompeii by Bastille’, which is linked to our Ancient Romans topic. We have started practising the song today: Bastille – Pompeii (Lyrics)

Do you have any Roman soldier clothes or togas to dress up in? Could you create a volcano picture or sculpture? Could you create some dance moves to match the lyrics?

Over half term holiday, either have a go at creating or thinking of ideas for our music video! We can’t wait to see what amazing ideas you can think of.

Please bring items (must be named) in after the half term week (week beginning 2nd June)

Thank you,

Year 3 team
