Teddy bears

We have recently seen an increase in teddy bears/toys being brought into school.

Please ensure your child does not bring these in as they cause a lot of upset if your child loses them or they get broken.

We have explained to the children that the best place for their toys to be is at home, waiting for them when they get home after school to play with.

Thank you for your understanding.

REMINDER – Nature Walk tomorrow (Tuesday)

Hello!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Nature Walk!

Please ensure your child brings in their Forest School clothes and wellies in a separate bag for them to change in to at school.

Fingers crossed the weather stays as nice as this afternoon!

Many thanks,

Year 1 team

Year 1 Nature Walk

As Miss Harrison has explained in a previous post, our Nature Walk has unfortunately been cancelled for this Wednesday (22nd), due to a shortage of adults.

It has been postponed to the afternoon of Tuesday 28th March. Please, let us know if you can volunteer for this new date. We would love for this walk to go ahead still!

*Please note: there is no Forest School this Wednesday*

Many thanks,

Mrs Millington

Year 1 this afternoon

Hello all,

We hope you all get home safely and get back home in the warm!

If you would like some activities to complete while your child is off school, please complete the following:

– Use ‘Fred talk’ to read phonics books aloud to an adult (don’t forget to write in their diaries)

– Practise spelling their ‘Jumping Orange Words’ for this half term in reading diaries. Focus on beautiful handwriting.

This afternoon we would have been covering PE, Arithmetic and Storytime.

For arithmetic you could practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s (you could make this as practical as possible!) and use Hit the Button to practise your number bonds to 10 and 20 https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

For PE you could try cosmic yoga http://Joybob The Polar Bear | A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure! – YouTube  or  go for a snowy  walk  with  an adult (make sure your dress appropriately to stay warm and dry).

Take care and we look forward to hearing all the children’s snow stories when they return!

Many thanks,

Year 1 team

BeSmart Cup treat!

Mrs Millington’s class have had a lovely, snug afternoon eating biscuits, drinking chocolate milk and watching lots of Julia Donaldson short films!

BeSmart Cup Treat

Welcome back! Hope everyone has had a lovely half term break.

We have had a discussion as a class about what we would like for our Be Smart Cup Treat this Friday. The class came up some great ideas!

This Friday, the children can bring their slippers and a snoodie/dressing gown in to wear in the afternoon (in a named bag please). We will have a cosy afternoon watching a film with a few treats.

Many thanks,

Mrs Millington
