Y4 Reading at Home

It is really important that you are all reading everyday and recording what you have read. So that we can monitor this, we have created a virtual reading diary for you to complete daily on Google Classroom. You do not need to ‘turn in’ every time you add to it as it will save and we can see your progress. It will be a working document. Please remember to use online books from the Oxford Owl website and Fiction Express as well as your home books. Adults in Y4 will be able to write in your virtual diary too and ask you questions like we would normally do.

We all look forward to reading your comments.

A Big Well Done…

Well done to all of Y4 this week. You have all received Star of the Week for your fantastic efforts.

Have a lovely weekend.

Y4 Home Learning

It is understandable that children may need a little bit of adult support when completing their work at home.

Some parents have added onto the work/or sent a private comment via Google Classroom to let us know if support was needed. This has been really helpful for us.

If you have needed to support your child with a task, and you feel you had to give them lots of help, please do let us know.

We will be continuing to assess children and its important that we receive a true reflection of a child’s abilities.

Thank you again for your continued support; we really appreciate your help.

Many thanks

Y4

Thank You

Thank you parents for supporting your child with their home learning.

It has been great to see lots of children attending the live lessons and completing the work on Google Classrooms.

We monitor work daily to ensure that all children are accessing/completing work.

We have noticed that some children are attending the live lessons (which is great) but then not completing the work set on Google Classroom.

Please can you double check that this isn’t the case with your child.

Please note that if your child is in school, they will be completing work on Google Classrooms.

Many thanks

Y4 Home Learning

Hi Everyone,

We have been really pleased to see people attend the live lessons and complete the work afterwards.

Please remember to complete additional work such as, practising of spellings, Guided Reading and Science on Google Classroom. We have been posting lessons which we would normally cover if we were all in school e.g. Computing, RE etc in addition to live lessons.

Thanks

The Y4 Team,

Teams

It’s been great to see lots of the children on Teams this week.

If you have been unable to locate the Teams invite, click on the attachment for help.

Please use your child’s school email address when signing up to Teams. This will then automatically link to our Y4 Teams.

Y4 PE Lessons

PE- A MUST watch! As we would normally have PE tomorrow, we would still like home learners to stay active. Watch the video below to find out how!

Y4 Important Information for Home Learning

Hi Year 4,

It was so lovely to see so many of you on our live lessons on Teams today. Please remember that if you were unable to attend, we have uploaded recordings of the lessons onto Google Classroom. While we are on the subject of Teams, please can you also ensure that your child does not re-join the teams invite after the lesson has ended. If your child wants to message their friends, they can use their Purple Mash emails to do so.

Apologies for the issues surrounding editing documents and saving them. We think we have now resolved this. You will notice that we have uploaded new documents for some of the existing posts for today e.g. Literacy, Science and Maths. We hope that you can access these more easily now.

With regards to handing work in, when your child clicks on their work (assignment) it should then open the google docs for them. Please bear with google docs as it can take a little while to load. As your child works on this document, it will automatically save. You will then notice a grey ‘turn in’ button in the top, right-hand corner. Once your child has completed their work, all they need to do is click this. A pop-up will then appear to confirm this. Please click turn in.

If there is not a turn in button, do not worry, your child can then click the ‘hand in’ button which will still be on the page/tab where they accessed the work from.

As always, thank you so much for all of your support (and patience).

Entry and exit points

If your child has a confirmed place at school, please can they enter and exit via the steps by Miss Cook’s office. Mr Jackson’s class use this as their entry and exit point already but my children will need to start to please.

Thanks

Y4 Times Table Club

Due to the current circumstances, we will be cancelling the Y4 Times Table Club.

Apologies
