Year 2 Spelling – Friday 26th February

Hi all, today is spelling test day. Yay! Can you please complete your spelling test of the  suffixes on words that end with ‘y’.

Please email your score to newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk. Good luck!

 

Next weeks spellings look at suffixes on words that end with ‘e’. Here is a short video explaining this rule.

Remember to choose the correct page to practise. Those of you that work with Miss Newport or Miss Jones for spellings need the sheet with 10 words, those of you that work with Mrs Thomas or Mrs Horler need the sheet with 7 spellings and those of you that work with Mrs Fullerton need the sheet with 5 spellings. If you can’t remember which group you are in then just email us at ‘newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk’.

Remember to practise your spellings every day and complete the daily activities that are posted on the website.

Today we would like you to put your spelling words into sentences but not just normal sentences, we want you to make them as silly as possible. The sillier the better! See if you can make us laugh!

Here is todays spelling activity. Can you find all of this weeks spelling words in the wordsearch?

This week you will all be learning a new spelling rule and that is how to add suffixes to words that end with the letter ‘y’.

YR2 Times tables (Monday 22nd February)

Speed times tables                      speed times tables – challenge

Good morning to all,

I hope you have had a restful week off. Your times tables activity for today is all about speed. You have 1 minute to complete as many questions as you can in each test. After the time is up, check your answers with your helper. Try to improve your score with each test you do.

Should you want to challenge yourself even more why not have a go at the ‘Speed times tables challenge’.

Year 2 Home Learning, week beginning 22nd February

Hello Year 2!

We hope you have had a wonderful half term and you are ready for another busy week of home learning.
