Snow day

Morning everyone!

As nursery is closed today we wanted to share some super snowy activities that you could take part in at home.  The first idea is to look for footprints in the snow, particularly footprints that different creatures may have made.  If you do find some, can you identify what might have made them?  Please follow the link for some support with this.  Your child’s keyworker would love to see any that you find using the evidence me app.  Happy hunting! https://pin.it/3XRsFfn

Mother’s day stay and play

We are really excited to be holding a stay and play session on Thursday 16th March.  If your child attends on Thursdays, mums or nannies are invited to drop in at 8.30 or 12.20 for a short activity with your child.  We are hoping to decorate a gift and card ready for mother’s day, this will take approximately 30 minutes.  We’re really looking forward to seeing you.  Please don’t be concerned though if you are unable to attend as we will have lots of lovely activities for your child to take part in with their keyworker.

World book day

Don’t forget it’s world book day tomorrow (Thursday 2nd March).  Your child is invited to dress up as their favourite character and bring in a loved book from home to share.  We will be spending time sharing our favourite stories, making bookmarks and drawing our favourite characters.

Thank you for your support

Pets

We have a very exciting visitor in nursery next week!  The animal man is coming on Friday to help us to learn how to look after pets.  Please can you support us with this by sharing any pets that you have at home via evidence me.  We will use these pictures to prompt the children to talk about them.  If you don’t have a pet don’t worry, you are equally welcome to send in pictures of friends or relatives pets too.

Thank you Lisa Curnow

Baby pictures

We have been receiving the most wonderful baby photographs of your children via evidence me, thank you.  We are talking all about babies this week including having a visiting baby on Friday.  If you haven’t had chance to send any baby pictures in yet you still have time.

Thank you for your continued support

Treeific Tuesdays

In Mighty oaks we are hoping to restart our Treeific Tuesday sessions on Tuesday 10th January.

Yellow, red and green groups will be heading to the woods in the morning and blue, purple and orange group in the afternoons.  If you are unsure which group your child is in please just ask at the gate.  Don’t forget that your child will need wellies in the woods and some shoes to wear inside.

Thanks again

Road Safety by the Safeguarding Champions

Did you know that every 4 minutes someone is seriously hurt on the roads in the UK!

It is important that you stay safe on the roads and always follow the Green Cross Code.

The Green Cross Code

  1. Find a safe place to cross,
  2. STOP just before the kerb,
  3. LOOK for any traffic,
  4. LISTEN for any vehicles,
  5. When it is safe to cross go straight across- DO NOT RUN!

The safeguarding champions have made a video to show you how to use the pelican crossing outside of our school safely.

Remember to always follow these safety tips.

Year 1 – Train trip

We had a fantastic trip this morning to Telford Steam Railway in Horsehay. The children were able to secure their learning about George Stephenson and steam trains. We saw many steam trains, saw a diesel trains, went in a carriage, had a snowball fight and even had a drink and biscuit in the cafe. A great morning had by all!
