Attingham information

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please ensure that your child comes into school in waterproof forest school gear (ideally with wellies) on Wednesday. They will also need their lunchbox to be packed in a rucksack so this can be carried with them.

Thank you,

The Year 3 Team

Bravo 3GB for Healthy Lifestyles Week!

I am very proud of the class this week as they have given their all for Healthy Lifestyles Week. In school, they listened respectfully to visitors and enjoyed a range of interesting sporting opportunities and I was very pleased to receive emails to show how much children were enjoying exercise outside of school. We also recapped the need for a balanced diet and the dangers of smoking. We thought about how these things can affect mood, sleep and performance.

Harlem Globetrotter Basketball Visitor

Today we were lucky enough to meet Paul Sturgess, a professional basketball player and actor who gave a fantastic assembly as well as basketball session. The children listened carefully to his inspiring story and practised their dribbling skills with both hands.

Close Observation

After labelling parts of a plant in class and discussing their functions, we went outside with microscopes to observe closely. The children were superb at naming the parts and also noticing the differences and similarities between plant species.

Allotment Session 07.06.23

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please send your child into school tomorrow in their forest school gear as we have another Shropshire Wildlife Trust session in the allotment.

Thanks,

The Year 3 Team

VR headsets

Today we used VR headsets to look around the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome.

Wroxeter

Firstly, thanks to all those lovely parents for helping out with some very excited and wind-swept children today. I was incredibly impressed with how much the children could remember from our Guided Reading, Literacy and History sessions and this trip really allowed them to show off their knowledge.

We explored the ancient town of Viroconium and learnt about how the Romans changed life in Britain. Having written about a Roman townhouse in a recent chance to shine, it was amazing to actually explore a replica! It was a jam-packed day full of great experiences. We made mosaics, raced in a basilica, dressed in Roman clothing, entered a hypocaust system and much more!

Green Screen Estate Agents

All the pupils deserve congratulations today for their Chance to Shines. We were blown away by the quality of their persuasive writing. Today the children impressed further by working in small groups to create property adverts for their Roman townhouses. Thanks particularly to those Computing superstars that helped with directing the video and editing using iMovie.
