Further to recent notification regarding the reduction of child photographs on the Newdale Facebook page, we would like to reassure Year 6 parents that photographs of the children enjoying the Arthog trip will still be posted as normal this year.

We hope that you all had a restful summer and we are looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow.

PE days will be on a Wednesday and a Friday and both sessions will take place outside; Year 6 can come in PE kit tomorrow. There will be a single session of swimming on a Friday later this half term for each class and we will notify you of the dates for these nearer the time and obtain consent for you to attend.

Please can we kindly request that sugary sweets and treats are not brought in to celebrate birthdays. This is part of our healthy school drive and also to ensure the safety of children with allergies and dietary requirements. We will of course ensure that birthdays are celebrated in school. Should you wish to bring an alternative, bubbles, stickers and other small items are most welcome but not expected.

The year 6 team are really excited to start the Autumn term. We have so many fun things to look forward to: Arthog and a tile making workshop to name just a few.

As part of the ongoing activities for their last week at primary school, the year 6 children have been given the option of bringing in an extra school shirt on Thursday for their classmates to sign. This is entirely optional and all children have been told to seek parental permission before doing so.

Please can all children bring in a bag for life tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday: due to the large volume of books that the year 6 children complete throughout the year, we will be sending a few home each day from tomorrow.

As part of their smart cup treat from last term, Year 6 are having a board game afternoon tomorrow (Tuesday 16th June 2026). Whilst they are able to use the board games we have in school, they are very welcome to bring in those which they may have at home. The children have been reminded that they should be willing to share these games with their classmates and that they are responsible for ensuring they don’t lose any pieces!

We are looking forward to an afternoon of friendly competition!
