Happy to be back

Mighty oaks this week are enjoying playing outside. All the rain has not stopped our play. As you can see your children are having fun being ever so busy. We are all sending our well wishes to friends at home.

Missing you all

Good afternoon mighty Oaks children, from all of the team here at nursery. I can see you’ve been continuing the amazing work of homeschooling. We are missing you but we know that you are safe and well at home, happy with your families. Please keep sending in your work from home and remember we are here at nursery if you have any queries. Hope to see you all soon.

Back to nursery

We thought you would like to see how happy the children are back at nursery. They’ve bounced into our activities with a can do attitude and really enjoying learning. I think this just shows how well you all have done and continue doing at home keeping things as normal as possible in this unusual circumstances. We hope to see more of you back in the future. Take care

Wonderful Wednesday cooking

It’s not always so easy to have the time to bake at home with the children, our life’s are busy. So for this weeks cooking activity I thought let’s try our hands at this microwave vanilla cake. Looks good I wonder if it taste good. I’m going to give it a try myself today and see what happens. First time for me baking in a microwave! 😬

Get out your measuring spoons and measuring cup sets and let your children learn how easy it is to measure out their own single-sized mug of vanilla cake batter.

Ingredients

• 2 Tablespoons egg substitute (like Egg Beaters)

• 2 Tablespoons butter, softened or melted

• 1/3 cup flour

• 3 Tablespoons sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• 3 Tablespoons half and half or milk

• 2 Tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

• 1 cup powdered sugar

• 2-3 drops pink or red food coloring

Directions

1. In a small bowl, stir together egg substitute, butter, flour, sugar, vanilla, 2 Tablespoons of half and half, and 1 Tablespoon of rainbow sprinkles.

2. Place in an extra large mug. Microwave for 60 seconds, wipe any of the batter that has bubbled over the edge, then return to the microwave for an additional 30 seconds.

3. Remove the cake and place it in the fridge. While it’s cooling, stir together powdered sugar, 1 Tablespoon half and half, and food coloring. Drizzle over slightly warm cake. Sprinkle and enjoy this easy microwave dessert recipe!

Observations

Fantastic again Newdale nursery 🙌

Clear to see your fine and gross motor skills have been tested, but yet again you shined though. Maths homework and literacy you are flying through.

Yummy yummy in your tummies

I love your photographs of our suggested activities. Cooking pancakes and decorating them with happy smiley faces. I see you also enjoyed the emotions activities and pulled some rather funny looking facial expressions, made me chuckle out loud 😄 so here they are from the pictures to drawing all very, very good and funny to look at. 😄☹️😋😍😎

Trampoline Athlon

A massive round of applause to Ella and Ethan Wood who came up with the idea of doing a trampoline- Athlon to raise money for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. What a wonderful thing you did and we all at Newdale School and Nursery are so, so proud of you both. I believe you raised more than you thought, this is great news and going towards a much needed course. So again from us all here Well done super stars. ✨🌈❤️👏

Wonderful Wednesday cooking

I wrote a poem called Rainbows days last week and the very last sentence says. Smiling at one and they smile at you. I think this fits perfectly with this weeks activities Mrs Cleobury has suggested. Smiling at someone is a simple but easy and effective way to brighten someone’s day. So let’s have some fun with these pancakes and put some smiley faces on them.

You could even think about passing that smiling pancake on to a neighbour or a friend. Spread the smile today 😁🌈

Wonderful observations

Keep them coming because we love looking. You have all again done an amazing job. We’ve all had a nice week it’s clear to see, more milestones have been achieved. Your hand writing and reading is coming along nicely. Enjoying maths in so many different ways from activity sheets to playing games. Lots of you have been exploring our wonderful country side but more importantly respecting it and talking about the wild life and insects that you find.

We all had a big day to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day and the weather was fab too for the garden party’s, dancing, painting your own t-shirts, dressing up, tea and cakes. 🇬🇧

Let’s celebrate VE Day

🇬🇧let’s get ready to celebrate VE Day this Friday by making some creative sandwiches for our Wonderful Wednesday activity. Have some fun and let your imagination flow while learning new skills. Enjoy 🇬🇧
