Year 2 Home Learning – Wednesday 27th January

Hello Year 2! 😊

There will be two live lessons on Wednesday, Maths at 9.30am and a British Values lesson at 11am.  You should have received an invite for this session however if not, then you can join the meeting through the Teams app. Please come to each meeting armed with paper and a pen to write.

Following the live lessons, the worksheets below should be completed.  You do not need to print these sheets but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.

If you are unable to attend the live sessions, a recording of the lesson will always be available afterwards.  Worksheets and any further instructions will be shared via the website. We understand that this is tricky for some of you working from home, especially those with siblings so we understand that it is not always possible to join live. We hope the recordings help to support this.

Here is todays spelling activity. Can you find all of the ‘al’ suffix words in the wordsearch? Remember that you only need to do the wordsearch that matches your spellings for this week. If you are unsure which one to do then just send us an email and we’ll remind you.

Year 2 Spelling – Friday 22nd January

Hi all, today is spelling test day. Yay! Can you please complete your spelling test of the ‘el’ ending words that you have been learning this week and then email your score to newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk. Good luck!

Next weeks spellings are all words that end with ‘al’. Here is a short video that recaps the ‘el’ and ‘le’ suffix that you recently learnt as well as this weeks ‘al’ suffix.

Remember to choose the correct page to practise. Those of you that work with Miss Newport or Miss Jones for spellings need the sheet with 10 words, those of you that work with Mrs Thomas or Mrs Horler need the sheet with 7 spellings and those of you that work with Mrs Fullerton need the sheet with 5 spellings. If you can’t remember which group you are in then just email us at ‘newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk’.

Remember to practise your spellings every day and complete the daily activities that are posted on the website.

Year 2 Spelling activity – Thursday 21st January

 

Hi Year 2. Today’s spelling activity is a colourful one. You will need 3 different coloured pens, crayons or felt tip pens to write your own Rainbow words.

First, write one of your ‘el’ spelling words in pencil. Next, draw around each letter 3 more times using a different coloured pencil. Do this for each of your spelling words. Do they look colourful?

Year 2 Spelling activity – Tuesday 19th January

Hello Year 2. Today we are going to use a drawing of a flower to practise our ‘el’ spelling words.

Follow the instructions below to create your own word flower. Remember, if your flower has lots of petals then you can write your words more than once. When you have finished you might want to add colour to your flower to make it look more attractive.
