Children starting school across Telford and Wrekin this autumn are embarking on an exciting journey through the borough’s 10 by 10 programme, having received their own adventure cards to help them explore ten enriching experiences before their 10th birthday.
The initiative encourages children to build confidence, develop new skills and broaden their horizons through activities such as learning to swim, riding a bike, playing an instrument, taking part in sport and drama, visiting museums and heritage sites, and using their local library. Every primary school in Telford and Wrekin is part of the programme, helping to ensure that all children have access to these valuable opportunities.
Families can also sign up to receive information about local events, activities and offers that support children in completing their 10 by 10 adventures. The scheme builds on the success of the borough’s 5 by 5 programme for younger children and aims to inspire curiosity, confidence and lifelong memories.
