This week has been Career Day at Newdale. We have learnt about different jobs and discussed what we might like to do when we grow up.
Yesterday morning was so exciting. We had a special visitor in class to tell us about his job. This was Sergeant Ashley who works in the Army.
Sergeant Ashley first taught us how to march like real soldiers. He then put us through our paces in a team based obstacle course to demonstrate the Army is all about teamwork. We then got to see what he has to carry around with him whilst away in his enormous backpack. We even got to try on his bulletproof army vest and helmet and then crawled through his tent. We all had the best time.

Congratulations to Elijah who is Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ Star of the Week for listening carefully and working hard to follow instructions. Well done Elijah!

Congratulations to Lexi who is Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ Reception ‘Star of the Week’ this week for excellent phonics work.

Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ star of the week this week is Violet for excellent Literacy work. Violet worked really hard to write extended sentences and had beautiful handwriting and presentation. Well done Violet.

Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ ‘Star of the Week’ this week is Poppy for excellent phonics work. Well done Poppy, you are working so hard on your reading and writing and all the adults in Reception are very proud of you.

Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ Star of the Week this week is Emelia for excellent maths work! Emelia worked very hard to find all the different ways to make 7. Well done Emelia!

Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evans’ Star of the week this week is Kira for all round fantastic behaviour and attitude to all aspects of school. Kira is a fantastic role model to others and always gives 100% in her work. Well done Kira!
