Shape Poems

Today the children worked extremely hard to create shape poems. They thought about the characteristics of their animal and chose an irritating feature to focus on.
During wet play, some children continued to create their own examples!

Building bridges in STEM club

We learnt today how to roll paper to create stiffness. This made our bridges far stronger than when we just used flat paper.

STEM club – Parachutes

Yesterday at STEM club, the children created their own parachutes. They experimented with shape and size whilst some also added holes which stabilised the air flow. We discussed how the parachute uses air resistance to counteract the force of gravity. We certainly enjoyed testing their creations!

Be SMART Friday

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Friday 26th, Year 3 will be celebrating earning the Be SMART cup for fantastic behaviour on their recent school trip. We invite children to bring comfies in for the afternoon session in a bag. This could be slippers/dressing gowns/oodies/hoodies.

Thanks,

The Year 3 Team

Magnetic metals

In Science today, we learnt that some metals are magnetic and some are non-magnetic. We tested a range of samples to see which were attracted to a magnet.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

Thanks to all the parents who helped support us on our trip today. The children were a credit to Newdale and enjoyed learning about life in Britain in the Iron Age.

Changes to PE days after Christmas

Dear Parents/Carers,
