Phase 4 Phonics Bingo

Free twinkl resources and sign up

Good morning all! I have included a few links this morning to the wonderful world of twinkl. The second link should take you straight to a page where you can sign up and begin using the resources available from twinkl. This is a great resource for practising your phonics sounds. Once signed up, you can use the top link to take you to a phase 4 bingo game. Equally you can just search phase 4 activities once signed in and take your pick from the wealth of fun games and activities they provide. Remember this week we would be looking at blends including; lp, lf, lk, pt, xt, tr, dr, and gr.

Year 2 Home Learning – Tuesday 12th January

Hello Year 2!

There will be two live lessons tomorrow, Maths at 9am (creating a bar chart) and Gymnastics at 10am (with our gym coach Jason).  You should have received an invite for this session however if not, then you can join the meeting through the Teams app. For your PE session this morning you will need to be wearing suitable clothing for gymnastics and have suitable space. Please ensure that your camera is switched off for this PE session.

Following the Maths lesson, the children can complete their work on Purple Mash (you should find their login details in their reading diary.  If you cannot find them please send us an email).  Your child will need to see the sheet below to help them to complete their bar chart. Your camera can remain on for this session.

Tuesday Maths

When creating their bar chart, your child will find the work in their 2do section on Purple Mash.  Alternatively they could draw the bar chart by hand using the squared paper below.

If you are unable to attend the live sessions, a recording of the lesson will always be available afterwards.  Worksheets and any further instructions will be shared via the website. We understand that this is tricky for some of you working from home, especially those with siblings so we understand that it is not always possible to join live. We hope the recordings help to support this.

Literacy – please complete this word bank.  Tomorrow we will be writing a character description for Jim-Lad so today you need to write down any adjectives or phrases you could use in your writing tomorrow.  You could use the adjective word bank below to help you and there are a few ideas in each column to get you started!

Good morning! I hope you had a lovely weekend. Here are a few activities to help you practice those sounds this week. We are looking at Phase 4 blends that include; lp, lf, lk, pt, xt, tr, dr, gr. Can you think of some of your own words for these sounds by having a hunt around the house and jotting them down in a list? Below is a word search you may like to have a go at and if you would like to, you can create your own by following the link. Don’t forget you can also use some of the games websites for a bit of Phonics fun too!

There will be two live lessons tomorrow, Maths at 9.30am (looking at bar charts) and Literacy at 11am (looking at the moral of stories).  You should have received an invite for this session however if not, then you can join the meeting through the Teams app. Please come to each meeting armed with paper and a pen to write.

Following the lesson, the questions on the sheet below should be completed.  You do not need to print this sheet but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.

Yr 3 spellings week beginning 11/01/21

Well done

Good afternoon Year 1.
Wow what a fantastic first week using Google Classrooms.
We are all so incredibly proud of you and how you have adapted to this new way of learning.
The work you have been completing and sending to us is amazing, you are working so hard.
It’s great to see so many of you on the live classes and also accessing the recorded ones off the stream.
Thank you all for baring with us as we get used to using this new technology.
We hope you have all enjoyed the live lessons and we are looking forward to teaching you live again next week.

We have so much fun planned for you.

We think you all (parents including) deserve to be on the rainbow.
