The day will be filled with fun activities for the children as we all take part in such a wonderful event.

Mighty Oaks

A week in Mighty Oaks ❤️
Throughout the weeks just passed the children have took a visit to our local Morrisons, looking at different colours to find in store and healthy eating. As always the staff were super friendly and happy to show the children around the fish counter. Children really enjoyed the experience of shopping and talking through then tasting healthy foods back at nursery making their very own fruit kebabs.🍇🍓🍒🍉

Stay and play session, where you were able to pop in and have some time with your little ones. This was amazing and we thank you for this time as we know it’s not easy! The look on their faces was worth it. We hope you enjoyed looking around and seeing the environment which is now moving towards a more natural curiosity approach. 🪵🧮
Which moves me onto our planning this week being all obituaries the world around us and our senses. Through the week we’ve talked about the 5 senses and had planned activities where the children can explore these. My favourite had to be the experiments with herbs, spices and ice.

Indoor PE with Mrs Pablos
On the move! Over, under, through and jumping. Using the sports equipment the children were challenged in an assault course to really get their bodies moving in different ways in gross motor skills. Then a nice relaxing cool down with 🧘 yoga

Love was in the air for our last day celebrating Valentine’s Day
Along with ladybugs we did a rotation of activities through both nursery’s and the hall. In ladybugs room the lab was ready with a love potion station.
Ooo interesting smells and ideas from this! Stirring mixing having fun. Fine motor skills with the play dough as they got to work on some love hearts shapes and glitter. 😍🧪
Mighty oaks rooms had threading, love bands, colouring, and making paper flowers. But one of my favourites was the hall were we got to follow a track and dance with instruments and fabric to the song love train 🚂❤️

We hope you have a lovely break over next week and we look forwards to seeing you back on the Tuesday 25th February
From all the team at Mighty Oaks thank you 🙏

Farewell Mrs Ferriday

Here at Newdale Nursery we would like to all say goodbye and good luck to Mrs Ferriday, who has been a valuable member of our team for 7 years now looking after many in her Purple group.
We wish her well on her new adventure and the extra time she will have with her loved ones. Her new placement will be very lucky to have her as she is incredible at teaching! One to be admired and I’ve took many notes over the years.

Starting on Monday purple group will be with myself Mrs Giordano for their last week before they break up. Then in the new year the children that have been in this group have been placed with new key workers, this has been throughly thought out to make their transition easier.
This Monday information will go out to those parents regarding who their child’s new key workers will be.
Thank you all and I hope you join me in congratulating Mrs Ferriday on her new job and wish her well.

Healthy lifestyle

Healthy lifestyle and living

With the weather being like it is today what a great day to get out there moving and exploring! So much fun can be had even in a steady stroll, building a snow man, making foot prints and sledging.
We started yesterday in nursery with some really fun activities to get the children moving around really working on both fine and gross motor skills.
Please send us in today’s photos of you and your children having fun. We’d love to share them and display them.

On that note we’ve made some changes to our menus to fit the guidelines as some of you may know, but it doesn’t stop with us we need your help too, to help the early years children especially in their healthy eating. You can do this by making some simple changes, I’ve popped in a link about a healthy lunch box and other recipe ideas to help.
We ask as a nursery to only send in water in their bottles, trust me they do drink it, we only supply water and milk ourselves and see them all drink.

Hope you’ve really enjoyed the weather today, what a lovely treat ❄️❤️
