Year 2 Home Learning – Week Beginning 1st February

Following the parent survey, we will now be posting a weekly timetable each week so you can see what lessons will be planned for your child to complete each week.

*Please note that for the Science lesson on Tuesday, the children will need an elastic band/hair bobble, sponge, piece of paper and plasticine/playdough.  Please do not worry if this is not possible.*

We have also created a help sheet to support your child with their Math learning this week.

Yr 3 spellings week beginning 01/02/21

This week’s spellings. The spelling test will be Friday 5th February.
To help support your child learning their spellings, there is a quiz to complete at home which can be accessed if you log into Purple Mash and click on the ‘Alerts’ icon.

There will be two live lessons on Friday, Maths at 9.30am and Geography at 11am.  You should have received an invite for this session however if not, then you can join the meeting through the Teams app. Please come to each meeting armed with paper and a pen to write.

Following the lesson, the worksheets below should be completed.  You do not need to print this sheet but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.

E-Safety Top Tip for Parents – TikTok

TikTok is a social media platform that lets you create, share and discover 60 second videos. You can use music and effects to enhance your videos and you can also browse other people’s videos and interact with them.

Even though the official age rating for this app is 13+, we are aware that there are children in our school using TikTok at home.  Did you know that there is a Family Safety Mode for this app? This allows parents to link their own TikTok account to their child’s and then they are able to manage screen time, turn features on and off and also oversee their child’s digital wellbeing.

Year 2 Home Learning update

Following feedback from the Parent survey, we will be slightly amending how we share home learning in Year 2.  We hope that this will make things easier for you all at home.

From now on we will:

– Post all work on the website at the same time.  This will be the day before it is to be completed, at around 4pm.  This gives adults the opportunity to print sheets and prepare for the next day’s learning.

– Post all learning/worksheets and instructions onto the Year 2 Homework part of the website (as well as where it currently is on the Year 2 News).  If you click on the homework tab then you will be able to view the work only and not the other website posts.  This should make it easier to quickly locate all the work to be completed for each day.
