Reception Timetable

Dear Parents and Carers. Please find attached a timetable for you to work from over the next few weeks. We will be sending out daily updates with the daily activities for you all. Children in the early years learn through play as well as the focused activities we do in class. During an afternoon in Reception we have child initiated time. This is where the children are able to choose their own activities and learn by playing and exploring their own ideas. Please feel free to send us evidence using the Evidence Me App or via the blog. Don’t forget the email too if you need any help at home. We have also included the 100 things to do inside grid for ideas to do in the afternoon.

We hope you all stay safe and well.

Measure

This week we have been learning how to measure differently items. We have been using measuring tapes, rulers and blocks to measure the length of certain items. During this Maths lesson we made our own beanstalk and talked about whether it was long or short.

Fantastic Phonics

We were so proud of Georgia today. She has been reading lots at home and has been listening really well to Mrs Stevens in Phonics. She really impressed us with how many sounds she knew. Miss Cook was very proud of her too. Well done Georgia.

Star of the Week 28th February

The boys worked hard to follow the smart code in school. Well done boys.

Nature Walk

Despite the rain we have enjoyed our nature walk. We found the larch, brambles, gorse and silver birch.

Nature Walk: Wednesday 4th March

Next Wednesday afternoon (4th March) the children will be going on their first nature walk. We will be looking for Gorse, Silver Birch, Bramble and larch. Later on in the year we will be revisiting the site to see how it has changed.

Please can the children bring in their wellies in case it is muddy.

Many thanks The Reception Team
