We are extremely proud of how well the children have settled into their new year group.

PE days will remain unchanged next half-term (Monday and Tuesday).

There is no homework to complete over half-term as we want the children to enjoy their break and to return refreshed on Monday 3rd November. Homework will be given on this day so please can children bring their homework books to school.

We have reminded children that along with their weekly homework, they are expected to read at least 5 times a week in year 6 and to record a detailed comment in their reading diary. We would really appreciate parental support and reminders for this, to help us support the children with their learning and also to prepare them for the homework expectations in secondary school.

Parents need to apply by the closing date of 31^st October 2025 for a secondary school place for September 2026, via the Parent Portal, accessed via Telford & Wrekin Council | Secondary School Admissions

Points to remember

– Apply for up to 4 schools to maximise the chance of receiving a preferred offer.

– Listing only 1 preference increases the risk of being allocated a school far from home.

– Late applications are unlikely to secure a place at popular schools.

– The application deadline is 31^st October 2025 for all secondary school applicants.

– This deadline also applies to all children with an Education Health and Care Plan.
