Year 1’s Sports Day 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

Year 1 were all great sports last week at our Sports Day. They gave it their best shot and we loved to hear all of the teams cheering each other on! Go Year 1!

Our Stepathon Champion

A big well done to Teddy who has managed to achieve our biggest step total so far! Running all of those laps certainly paid off!

Year 1 – Looking after our teeth!

As part of Healthy Lifestyles Week, Year 1 learnt all about looking after their teeth. We went to an assembly and listening carefully to the visiting dentists. We learnt how we should correctly brush our teeth and brought home a leaflet with some top tips!

Can you remember how to brush your teeth properly?

Yesterday, all children should also have brought home a brand new toothbrush, toothpaste and maze activity sheet to test whether they can make healthy choices when looking after their teeth! We have set the children a challenge – if they can impress their grown-ups at home with their super teeth cleaning skills and/or complete the maze activity, we have some special stickers to give out next week! Let us know how you get on with looking after those shiny, white teeth!! We can’t wait to see some dazzling smiles on Monday morning! 😀

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss McCullagh

Penalty Shoot Out in Year 1

We had lots of fun at our Children vs. Adults Penalty Shoot Out this afternoon. Mrs Lee and Miss McCullagh tried their best but the children still scored lots of goals! ⚽️⚽️

A fantastic STEM week 🎖🎖

The Year 1 pupils have all made us so proud this week. They have completed 4 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) challenges over the week and shown incredible determination and resilience with the problems they have faced! We have been so impressed with their inquisitive minds and are sure we have some budding engineers in our class!

Year 1’s Nature Walk 🌿🌱🌳🌲

Year 1 really enjoyed their Nature Walk yesterday afternoon – and the rain certainly didn’t stop us from having fun and exploring the local nature. We spotted lots of different types of trees and discussed whether we thought they were ‘evergreen’ or ‘deciduous’ – using the main characteristics of their leaves.

Can you remember what ‘evergreen’ and ‘deciduous’ mean?
