End of Term Letter – December 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of this long term, I want to say a big thank you for all of your support. It makes such a difference to the children and to the school, and we really appreciate your involvement.

I would also like to thank our wonderful staff for their hard work and commitment. They have given so much time and energy in making sure the children have had a positive and successful term. They are already busy planning next term!

It was fantastic to see so many parents and grandparents joining us at the various Christmas events. Your presence made the celebrations even more special for the children. We are planning a Spring ‘Newdale’s got talent’ event, so it might be a time where you can start working on something with your children. They do not even know about this yet, but I am sure very many of them will be super excited! Details for this event are not confirmed just yet, but I wanted to give you the heads up.

Today, staff will be taking part in training to get ready for the new term. The office staff have asked that if you have any outstanding balances linked to school dinners or breakfast club, please can they be cleared before the end of play today.

We are already looking forward to welcoming the children back on Monday, 5th January 2026.

On behalf of everyone here, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Warm regards,

Miss Cook

Free School Meals

Dear Parents/Carers,

We already have many families who enjoy the benefits after applying for Free School Meals and we urge you to reconsider if you meet the criteria listed below.

By applying for Free School Meals, very often parents think it is all directly linked to school dinners- it isn’t! If you qualify for Free School Meals, it also means that you are entitled to significantly reduced prices for school trips, breakfast clubs and after school clubs. There are many other benefits that your child could directly receive to potentially support them at home and if needed, with their learning at school.

Families with children in years Reception up to Year 6 can apply for Free School Meals if they are entitled to certain benefits and have an annual income of £16,190 or below.

Please follow the below link as this will take you to the Telford & Wrekin website where you are able to access more information and download an application form which will be sent directly to the team. Or alternatively, speak to a member of staff in the school office for support in applying.

Achievement Assembly

Friday 12th December

As the end of term approaches, the school has been buzzing with festive cheer and activity. On Monday, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting trip to Southwater, while Nursery delighted families with their Christmas celebrations in the hall. Midweek brought a splash of colour as children proudly wore their Christmas jumpers and gathered for a delicious festive lunch. The week concluded on Friday with Year 2’s wonderful nativity performance. We are incredibly proud of the children’s dedication with learning their lines and songs to create such a memorable performance and a big thank you to the year two team for putting it all together.
