Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

This year we are again supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We will be selling poppy resources to raise the much-needed funds for this worthwhile cause.

Children can buy paper poppies at school, by bringing their donation to their classroom. The poppy will be given out at the end of the day to take home.

Selling of paper poppies and other resources will start from Wednesday 2nd November until Friday 11th November.

We do have a number of other poppy themed resources that will only be available to purchase after the school day, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. These items can be taken home for safekeeping!

Please see the attached information with details of the items which you can buy.

Zip Pulls – 50p

Reflectors – 50p

Silicon Bands – £1.00

Snap Bands – £1.50

We only have limited supplies, so once they are gone, they are gone!!

Thank you for your support.

E-safety Parent Top Tip – YouTube

YouTube is a great online tool for adults and children to use. However it is vital that you are aware of the videos your children are watching or even uploading for others to see.

The NSPCC have released a super article about some safety features you should put in place to help your child to stay safe when watching YouTube.

Please log on to ParentPay to book and pay for meals. Meals need to be ordered no later than Tuesday 8th November.

It will also be a chance for your children to share the work that they are doing in class and show you around school.

We apologise in advance for any queues that may build up. Our kitchen team try their best to serve up as quickly as they can!

Please do join us!

Safeguarding

Dear Parents/Carers,

Child abuse unfortunately does happen in our community. As a school, we work incredibly hard to protect our children. Please can you find a few minutes to watch this short video which contains tips and references should you have any concerns. (Please do not let children watch it, as it is not appropriate for them). We teach children about how to stay safe both in school and beyond. We do this through our Life Learning curriculum offer, our themed weeks and through our assembly offer.

If you ever need support in anything relating to safeguarding, we have trained Designated Safeguarding Leads available to talk to you and either offer advice or signpost you to experts who will be able to help.

If we work together, we can lower the risks for our children in our community.

Thank you for your continued support.

Earth Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

The children really enjoyed participating in our first Earth Day. Please ask your children what they got up to!

Thank you for the donations you sent in. We made a total of £374.50. When we take away the cost of our beautiful Earth day tree and the small charge from the Wildlife trust, we have £216 left over.

This money will go towards the development of our allotment. We want children to learn about being self-sustaining in growing their own food.

Everyone had a fabulous day which concluded in a celebration assembly and a reflection on why it is important to look after our Earth and what small steps we can do to support this process.

Have a great half term.

Miss Cook
