The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2022

Our school will be celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Thursday 26th May.

We are inviting all children to come to school wearing red, white and blue for the occasion (this can be a combination of all three colours or children can select one of the colours if that is easier).

As part of the celebration, the children will learn a lot more about what the Jubilee represents and the life and work of our Queen. They will also be creating a piece of artwork, inspired by Her Majesty The Queen which will be displayed as part of the decorations on the day.

We will be enjoying a traditionally English whole school fish and chip lunch on that day and hope that all children will be able to eat outside – street party style (weather permitting).

We know the children will enjoy this once in a lifetime event and will look forward to telling you about their day.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Careers Day

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Newdale, dreams and aspirations are harnessed and nurtured. This is the vision for all of our pupils. We teach all children to become self-confident and to take control of their own lives and create their own futures.

To support our pupils to have dreams and aspirations, we plan a careers programme to help inspire them to work towards the jobs of their dreams.

Our school is a place where everyone gets excited about their next steps and futures. We would like to invite you to share your occupations with our children.

Our careers programme has successfully run in school previously and we are looking for willing volunteers to lead activities with pupils or participate in talks.

This years will take place on Thursday 9th June.

We are looking for people who want to share their experience of their own job – The more varied the occupations the greater the learning experience we can provide.

If you are interested, please email the office and we will get back in contact with you.

Many thanks

Miss Broadhurst

E-Safety Top Tip – What Three Words app

What Three Words is an app which can give precise locations all over the world. Therefore it would be useful in an emergency, for example if a child was lost or needed medical attention. The child or lost person would be able to share their 3 words so that their location could be found.
If your child has their own phone, we recommend that you download this app so they are able to tell you their exact location.
More information about the app can be found here:

Online Safety Top Tip – Smishing

Does your child have a mobile phone?

Do you know what smishing is?

SMS phishing or ‘smishing’ is one of the most common forms of mobile-based cyber-attack. Smishing is when a scammer texts their target, pretending to be a reputable person or organisation. They aim to trick the victim into supplying sensitive data such as bank details and personal information, so they can then access the target’s bank account and remove money.

What should you do?

We advise that you explain to your children what they should do if they ever get a text message from someone they do not know. It is vital that they tell someone else and do not reply unless they have checked it is safe to do so. Encourage your child to talk about how they use their mobile phone on a regular basis.

There are also anti-virus software which now protects mobile phones. They detect phishing links in text messages and alert you about the risk. You should consider downloading anti-virus software to your child’s phone.
