Easter celebrations

” No matter what the weather brings,
we play together” ☔️🌈❄️

As we look back at Winter and all that it brought along with it. The elements and the new starters, we start to see growth, not only in the children but the new beginnings of nature.
We’ve welcomed Spring in by planting flowers, vegetables and Celebrated Easter by making Easter nest chocolate cakes, decorating special cards and going on a little hunt around the garden.
Have a lovely Easter break, see you soon. 🐣🍫

An update from the Newdale Governors 28/3/23

As proud governors of Newdale Primary School and Nursery, we attend regular committee meetings in school – where we look at how the school continues to provide such a high standard of education for your child, and where we have the opportunity to see and discuss school life from the perspective of the staff and the pupils.

Today, as part of one of these Governor committees, we looked at a sample of Literacy books and listened to a group of Year 6 children talk about their learning. All of these children commented on how they felt well prepared for their move to secondary school and excited about their next steps (and even more transition activities will be taking place in the summer term!).

We are continually seeking the views of children to ensure that the decision making has them at the centre. We are pleased that the children can speak so enthusiastically about their school, but we are keen to not only get the views of children and staff but also parents. We look forward to analysing the recent parent survey that many of you kindly filled in during parent consultation week.

As Governors, we really do want to support our school in ensuring that we educate children to become ‘doers, believers and achievers’. If you would like contact Governors to celebrate something that has happened or make suggestions on what we could do differently,  please do email in on newdale.primary@taw.org.uk and we will make sure we respond.

On behalf of the governing body,

Mrs Carole Williams, Mrs Beryl Mason and Mrs Karen Rowley

Treeific Tuesday

After Easter we will changing our rota for our Treeific Tuesday sessions in Mighty oaks.

In the morning blue, purple and orange groups will be heading to the woods with yellow, red and green group staying in nursery to cook.  We will swap over in the afternoon with red, yellow and green groups going to the woods and orange, purple and blue group cooking.

If you are unsure which group your child is in please just ask at the gate.

Your child will need wellies and a change of shoe if they are heading to the woods.  In addition, please send them in wearing clothes that they can get a bit messy in.  We do still need your child to be wearing either leggings or thin trousers in hotter weather to prevent the children being stung by any nettles they brush past.  On wet and muddy days we will provide them with a waterproof coat and trousers.

Thank you for your support

Stay and play for Mother’s Day and Red Nose Day 2023

What a truly wonderful treat it was to see all of you who were able to attend the Stay and play sessions for Mother’s Day !
We know time is precious with your little ones and work commitments can be hard to juggle such time, so thank you for coming along. The staff and children had a really nice time and all week they’ve been very busy behind the scenes making cards and things for you to come home with, hopefully saved for a very relaxing and treat day on Sunday. ❤️💐

Also today being Red Nose Day we brought out the silly noses and a splash of Red for the occasion. We’ve talked about why we are doing such things raising awareness that not all children are so lucky as ourselves. The day has been filled with colouring, games and dancing. 🔴🕺
Hope you all have a nice weekend and thank you once again for your support on both days!

Lost property

Please have a look through the lost property box outside of Mighty Oaks. Below are two teddies looking for their owners.

Nursery physical activities to do at home

Good morning everyone

Please see below some images and links to get creative with your child at home and have some fun! Enjoy your day together ☺️

Snow day

Morning everyone!

As nursery is closed today we wanted to share some super snowy activities that you could take part in at home.  The first idea is to look for footprints in the snow, particularly footprints that different creatures may have made.  If you do find some, can you identify what might have made them?  Please follow the link for some support with this.  Your child’s keyworker would love to see any that you find using the evidence me app.  Happy hunting! https://pin.it/3XRsFfn
