Coronavirus Update

Latest DfE Update

The importance of hygiene

Personal hygiene is the most important way we can tackle COVID-19, especially washing hands more; and the catch it, bin it, kill it strategy for those with coughs and sneezes.

Wash your hands more often for 20 seconds with soap and hot water

In addition to handwashing before eating, and after coughing and sneezing, both children and staff should also wash hands after using toilets and travelling on public transport.

In line with this Newdale will increase the amount of handwashing the children undertake in school to help with the current situation.

On top of what they should be doing (washing hands after going to the toilet/before lunch/when dirty through forest school/class activity etc) ALL CHILDREN are to wash their hands on entry to the classroom in the morning, after playtime and also after lunch.

EYFS Spring Sing a Long Nursery and Reception

We will be holding two spring sing a long assemblies on Thursday 2nd April 2020.  One at 9.15am and the second at 2.30pm.  Parents/Carer’s are welcome to attend, no tickets necessary.

Watching the men working on the diggers.

On Friday Purple and Red group went on a little walk to see the diggers working. While we were there the very kind gentlemen explained to the children that they were in the middle of making the big road. The children asked him some questions, like ” what are those big road things” He told us they are called waste pipes. We were even allowed to take away some rubber tube. We are going to collect materials each time we vist to go towards our art project.

World Book Day

Nursery are celebrating World Book Day today by dressing up as their favourite book characters or in their pyjamas. We have had so much fun sharing our favourite stories and looking at some of the great authors that will all know and love, like Julia Donaldson and Micheal Rosen.

Sports Relief – Friday 13th March 2020

On Friday 13th March we are excited to be supporting Sports Relief.

We are holding a mini event for a few children, along with three schools on The Wrekin.  If your child has been selected you will receive a letter with further information.

For the rest of the school and nursery, we are inviting children to dress in sports wear for a donation.

During the day we will be holding various fun sports events for the children and adults to take part in. Events will include a 1k run, inflatable goals in the hall, ‘stop everything and dance’ along with extra sport lessons.

We know your children enjoy the events we have planned!

Thank you for your continued support.

Grandparent’s Tea Party

We are looking forward to welcoming Grandparents into school for our annual tea party on Friday 6th March at 2 pm. If Grandparents would like to join children from the nursery who attend on a Friday afternoon, please can they sign the children out and if returning to the nursery please sign them back in .

Many thanks.

World Book Day

This year’s World Book Day will take place on Thursday 5th March.

As usual, we are all looking forward to seeing your child dressed up in costume as one of their favourite book characters. Staff cannot wait to get involved too!

The World Book Day website has lots of ideas on how to do this with as much or as little effort as you would like. There are some excellent ideas to get you started: https://www.worldbookday.com/dressing-up-ideas-2019/ and https://www.worldbookday.com/ideas/dressing-up-gallery/

However, children are equally welcome to come to nursery in their pyjamas –  just remember to bring their favourite book too!

As always, your child will receive a £1 book token to spend on a FREE book, or to save £1 on another full price book of their choice.
