Art Day

This year’s Art Day will be held on Friday 12th July. Children are once again being invited to “dress to express” in their most creative costumes but please bear in mind that there may be some messy activities! We will be working in house groups to create some fantastic pieces of art using recycled objects and your child’s teacher will let you know if they need donations of particular materials for their activities. In addition to this, we need lots (and lots!) of Tetrapak or Pure-Pak cartons for a very exciting printing project with Ironbridge Fine Arts. These cartons often contain fruit juice, oat or almond milk, coconut water, toddler formula etc. We would be very grateful for any clean, dry cartons that you can send into school. Thank you for your support.

Fundraising day for Macmillan

Thank you to all of you for doing your bit in our climb against cancer, by making one big love heart with reception and doing laps of the Astro turf👏
Well we’ve been very busy in Mighty Oaks recently with all the activities and special events going on we haven’t stopped!
Our very hungry caterpillars are now in the cocoon stage of their cycle, the chicks have moved out and the dinosaurs have moved in. 🦖🐛
Foresting through the woods, finding leaves to create a collage dinosaur picture, dap painting to make caterpillars and butterflies, easel art work on symmetrical butterflies. 🦋 and so much more ! Take a look and see how busy are we.

Message to parents regarding the activity out of hours

We are writing to inform you of some recent activity that has happened, out of hours on our site.

We believe at this stage that it is probably young people trying to find something to do. Even so, it is important that our site remains private during the evenings and weekends whenever the school and nursery are closed.

We are kindly asking parents/ carers who live locally to the school to support us by keeping an eye out and reporting any usual or suspicious activity around the nursery premises especially when school is closed.

School have already reported our concerns to the local police and the business watch security teams.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Curriculum Governors Involvement

Governors enjoyed listening to the children enthusiastically talking about their experiences during Healthy Lifestyles Week. Governors were impressed by the recount from the curriculum lead, explaining the developments across foundation subject assessment. This was evident whenever the Art and EYFS subject lead confidently discussed their areas of expertise.

EYFS Macmillan Event Information

You will have seen the letter sent out recently regarding ‘Climb Against Cancer: Newdale walk up the Wrekin to raise money for Macmillan’, with details of how you can support this cause through sponsorship on our justgiving page.

On Tuesday 25th June, our very youngest pupils in Nursery and Reception will be taking part in a sponsored walk along a specially planned route around the school grounds. They will use our sports pitches and the play areas to form the shape of a heart to symbolise the love and support we all feel towards those affected by cancer, followed by ten laps around the sports pitch!

In line with the rest of the school, we would like children to come dressed in the chosen colours to represent the event.

Please can children come dressed in:

RECEPTION –  WHITE TOP

NURSERY – RED TOP

We do have a small amount of school sports bibs should anyone need support.

We look forward to EYFS taking part and will be sure to share lots of photographs. Thank you for your continued support.

Whole School French Day

On Friday 5th July there will be a whole school French day for pupils from Nursery to Year 6.

Pupils can come into school dressed in red, white and blue or even create a costume inspired by a famous French landmark.

Throughout the day there will be various activities for the children to participate with including, cooking, handball, pétanque, the can-can and much more.

There will also be the option to have a French themed dinner which consists of quiche, ratatouille and chocolate mousse, alongside the normal fish and chips which will be served.

If you would like to make a voluntary contribution of £2.00 to support the resources on the day, please log into parent pay.

Thank you for your continue support.
