Wonderful Wednesday cooking

I wrote a poem called Rainbows days last week and the very last sentence says. Smiling at one and they smile at you. I think this fits perfectly with this weeks activities Mrs Cleobury has suggested. Smiling at someone is a simple but easy and effective way to brighten someone’s day. So let’s have some fun with these pancakes and put some smiley faces on them.

You could even think about passing that smiling pancake on to a neighbour or a friend. Spread the smile today 😁🌈

School update

Dear Parents/Carers,

I understand that you must have so many questions and indeed worries about the news that the Prime Minister announced this week concerning schools. This is a very useful document to read and I hope you find it informative.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers/reopening-schools-and-other-educational-settings-from-1-june

We are currently working very hard on our plan around re opening and hope to share that with you very shortly. If you have children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 6 then please do fill in the form that was sent out this morning to give us an indication as to whether you plan to send your child/children into school or not following half term.

Kind regards

Miss Cook

Facial Expressions Activity

Gabriel enjoyed taking part in our facial expression activity yesterday. Can you guess his expressions?

Tuesday’s phonics challenge

Today’s challenge is also an ICT one but this requires no other resources.  The aim of the game is to spell out simple words to keep the viking happy.  Press on the wave to see if your child has spelt them correctly.  Each time you only have to change one letter to make the new word, this helps your child look really carefully at the letters in words.  Eventually you end up back at the word given at the beginning and your child shouts “full circle!”.  Happy spelling!

Update from Miss Cook

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will have no doubt heard, yesterday the Prime Minister outlined guidelines that schools MAY return on a phased opening from June 1st starting with Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.  At this moment we are waiting for further guidelines from the Government and the local authority.  We will of course update you with more information as it becomes clearer to us.

Thank you for your continued patience during this difficult time.

 Kind regards

Enjoy!

Wonderful observations

Keep them coming because we love looking. You have all again done an amazing job. We’ve all had a nice week it’s clear to see, more milestones have been achieved. Your hand writing and reading is coming along nicely. Enjoying maths in so many different ways from activity sheets to playing games. Lots of you have been exploring our wonderful country side but more importantly respecting it and talking about the wild life and insects that you find.

We all had a big day to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day and the weather was fab too for the garden party’s, dancing, painting your own t-shirts, dressing up, tea and cakes. 🇬🇧
