Early Help

At Newdale, we value the importance of building and maintaining good communication and relationships with parents and families in our school. We understand the importance of this to ensure that all children maintain the ability to thrive and learn. We also understand that challenges and difficulties can arise, and there may be times where further support is needed for our families.

We encourage our families to communicate any issues, worries or changes in family circumstance with us, so we can help support them quickly and appropriately. Early Help means providing support as soon as an issue emerges, at any point in a child’s life. Through Newdale’s early help offer, there are a variety of ways we can do this.

We have members of the senior management team and inclusion team available on the school gates and playground in the mornings and afternoons, should you wish to approach us about anything. If you would like a more in-depth discussion, you can make an appointment to talk to someone from our inclusion team by calling in to the school office and asking to speak to Mrs Byrne Corbett or Miss Hudson, or alternatively you can contact the inclusion email at Newdale.Inclusion@taw.org.uk

Here are just some ways we can help and how you can access this support.

You can find more information in the Parent’s Area on the school website.

PODS Parent & Carer Session

Newdale are excited to be taking part in the PINs project this year and to welcome back PODS – the Parent Carer forum – for a follow up ‘Cake and Cuppa’ event in our school hall.

This is an informal opportunity to meet with the team and ask any questions about how PODS may be able to help you. The team can discuss neurodiversity and what support is available for your child, even without a diagnosis. Mr McFarland, SENDCO, will also be available to answer any questions.

This will take place in the school hall and you are then welcome to leave by 3.10pm to collect your child from their classes.

Please follow the link below to find out more information about PODS and the services they offer.

Finance & Personnel Governors Involvement

The Finance and Personnel Governors met on the 23rd October. They looked carefully at school finances and paid attention to the 3 year projection plan that had been prepared by the school finance officer. Governors had a staffing update and could see how the rising numbers of complex needs was adding pressure to the budget over time. Governors reviewed the staff well being audit findings and looked forward to some of the staff who are currently on Maternity leave returning in January. They were reassured that these staff returning would relieve pressure across the school.

Grandparents come to celebrate harvest

Thank you to all that attended our grandparents Autumn harvest sing along.
It was lovely seeing you all and having a chat. We hope you enjoyed the singing, they’ve worked so hard on practicing.

Ladybugs

Ladybugs have been learning about harvest ‘what’s a scarecrow?’ ‘Why are they on the farm?’ 🚜
They have been thrilled to learn an array of different songs that link to harvest and have explored lots of vegetables and natural materials linking to the celebration 🍁
We have done lots of sharing and our ladybug puppet has made an appearance to ensure the children are using kind hands 🙂

We got to meet the nursery Guinea pigs on Friday afternoon and the children did so well using their gentle hands 🖐️

Great week little ladybugs, your growing in confidence and showing some lovely skills and abilities to build relationships ☺️
