Parent Survey

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Newdale Primary School and Nursery, we greatly value feedback from our parents and carers. We kindly ask that all families complete our annual parent survey by Friday 5th June 2026 using the link below.

https://forms.gle/8q5MmKxwDGCQXTJH8

If you would like further information about any of the questions before completing the survey, please visit our school website or Facebook page, or speak to a member of our team who will be happy to help.

To say thank you, families who include their child’s name in the survey will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win one of our fun summer prizes!

All named entries will be entered into the draw, with winners receiving a summer toy for the whole family to enjoy.

Thank you in advance for your time and support.

Kind regards,
Miss Cook

MTC info for parents

As you know, Year 4 children across the country will be completing their Multiplication Table Check in early June. We have been practising our times table facts every day in school so that the children feel well prepared. Extra practice at home will also be of great benefit over the next few weeks. Find out more about the MTC.

Stay & Share – Wednesday 22nd April

We would like to invite you to our Stay and Share session on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 at 2:45pm.

Please enter your child’s classroom through their usual drop-off/pick-up route:

Reception, Year 2, Year 3, Year 5 and Year 6 – enter via the playground classroom doors

Year 1 and Mrs Everall’s class – enter via the decking area

Mr Stubbs’ class – enter via the stairs by the Visitor Car Park

Playground gates will open at 2:45pm.

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate one parent/carer per child. Please confirm your attendance through ParentPay, so staff know how many parents to expect.

For this event, the children will remain in their classrooms. If you have more than one child in school, you will be able to move between classrooms and spend time with each of them individually.

Please book your place via ParentPay, the event is free to attend. Places to be booked by the end of day Tuesday 21st April.

We look forward to seeing you, and the children are excited to share their learning with you!

Message from Miss Cook

Incident Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

I want to express my sincere thanks to the children for remaining as calm as possible and for following adult instructions so well today. I am also incredibly grateful to so many members of our local community who rushed forward to support us as we navigated a very difficult situation.

The teams at Newdale moved straight into emergency mode, acted calmly, and followed our procedures to the letter. The emergency services were outstanding and undoubtedly prevented the situation from becoming far more serious. We are extremely thankful for their swift and professional response.

At this stage, we are unsure whether Rock Road will be open tomorrow. Please consider alternative routes, including Brookes Avenue, and think about parking slightly further away and walking in if necessary.

To support this, we will operate a late register system tomorrow. There is no need for families to rush, as access routes may be limited. Children can arrive any time up until 10am without late marks being recorded.

We will be carrying out reassuring circle times and debriefs with the children, and we would appreciate your support in talking to them at home about the fact that school is safe and that we are very much looking forward to welcoming them back tomorrow.

It is never pleasant to have to put emergency policies and procedures into real-life action, but it is reassuring—for us and, we hope, for you as parents—that everything ran smoothly throughout the event.

Thank you so much for your support and for trusting us with your children.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Miss Cook

Change to PE Days

We hope you and your family enjoyed a lovely Easter break. Year 4 have another busy half term ahead of us with lots of exciting activities planned including EKO days, creating (very messy!) digestive systems, using VR headsets and a special Anglo-Saxon history day. PE lessons will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the Summer term. Please remember to send your child with a water bottle every day. See you back in class on Monday 13th April!

Black Country Living Museum

Earlier this term, as part of our history topic on what life was like for children during the Industrial Revolution, we visited the Black Country Living Museum, where the children explored historic streets and buildings, met costumed characters, and discovered how families lived and worked in the 19th century. They also learned about the dangers of working in the mines and even had the chance to experience a Victorian-style school session, seeing first hand how different education was during that time. The trip helped bring our learning to life by showing the tough jobs, daily routines, and challenges experienced by young workers, making it a memorable and valuable day to support our in school learning.

Telford Minster Trip

This half term in RE, we have been learning all about the Easter Story and its importance to Christians. We explored the key events, from Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the Last Supper, his crucifixion, and the joy of the resurrection. To deepen our understanding, we also went on a trip to Telford Minster where we learned about the different parts of the Easter Story in more detail. The visit helped us see how each moment connects together and why Easter is such a meaningful celebration for many people around the world. On our trip to the town centre, we even had time to explore Southwater Library and visit Telford Town Park!

Wolverhampton Art Gallery

This half term, Year 4 have been exploring the vibrant world of Pop Art. We learned about the bold colours and striking designs that make this art style so exciting, and we were lucky enough to visit Wolverhampton Art Gallery to see real Pop Art pieces up close. Inspired by what we discovered, the children created their own Pop Art prints using relief printing techniques, producing bright, eye-catching artwork.

Outdoor Learning – March

Linked to our Living Things and their Habitats topic, we classified different living things in our EKO session this half term. Children searched for plants and animals to classify into different categories. They also discussed if the things they found were living, once living or never living. Our next EKO day will be on Wednesday 22nd April 2026.
