End of year message from Miss Cook

Dear Parents/Carers,

2019 – 2020 has certainly been a year to remember!

Everyone at Newdale really has tried their very best to make sure that we get it right for our families over this stressful time. We peaked at 239 children in school and thankfully did not return any positive Covid test results.

Our systems and procedures held strong and the teams across school worked tirelessly to ensure your children were kept as safe as possible.

It was an absolute pleasure seeing those children who could return to school so happy and excited about being back with their friends and teachers. We have never neglected those who could not be back with us and ensured the home learning offer continued to support them too.

When looking back on the journey so far, the word that comes to my mind is trust. I have had to make some huge decisions since the middle of March and it is heart-warming to reflect on the unwavering trust I have experienced, not just from the team at Newdale, but also from our parents. As a parent myself, I understand the anxieties around protecting your own family and I know that it will have been a massive decision to trust us with your children again. Thank you for believing in us throughout this time.

We have all been working very hard on our September opening plan and today launched new class teacher videos to reassure the children that their next chapter at Newdale is going to be fun, engaging and with a team that cannot wait to see them.

There will be a home-learning activity released each week over the summer holiday to keep you and your children going! Teachers have set this up in advance to support you.

I would like to wish those moving on all the very best at their new schools; to everyone else, I look forward to seeing you all in September. On behalf of the entire Newdale team, I wish you a happy, and of course healthy, Summer holiday.

Miss  Cook
