Hello Year 3’s!

WE have loved seeing what you have been getting up to in literacy!

This week as it is the last week of summer e thought it would be a lovely idea to reflect on the past year!

JUMPING ORANGE SPELLLINGS

ALL spelling groups will complete the Year 3 Jumping Orange words this week!

Week 7 spellings – Jumping Orange words

If you are unsure of the definition of a word, use a dictionary or online dictionary https://www.dictionary.com/ to find the meaning. You could use the meaning to help write a sentence to help learn them. This is great for handwriting practise too!

Remember you can also create a scribble spelling sheet one day to help you practise like this

Year 3 Maths Summer Week 7

Hello Year 3’s

This is your final week of Year 3 Maths! We are super impressed with the efforts you have been putting into your maths!

This week’s maths is about measure, pictograms, bar charts and some games.

REMEMBER – try and practise your times tables on TTRS – I have set up tournaments. So get multiplying!!!!!

There are videos for each lesson followed by the activity sheets. Copy and paste the video link. If you can’t print the sheets do not worry as you can just write out the calculations or answers on a piece of paper just as the sheets model.

Maths Summer Term 2 – week 5

This week’s maths is all about angles. You will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes, telling the time to 5minute intervals and then Friday Fluency.

Year 3 Literacy W/C 29th June

Hello Year 3’s .

We have been extremely impressed so far this half term with your literacy work, keep it up and remember you can blog once a week a photo to show use all your home learning as we look forward to seeing it!

For the last 3 weeks of summer term, literacy will look a little different. The powerpoint attached shows three/four tasks which can be done throughout the week. One task will be a Year 3 SPAG focus for you to include and use in the other tasks.

Here is the work! Don’t worry if you are unable to complete all of the tasks or if some of you have already printed the work, please continue!

Summer Term 2 Week 4 Literacy

This week you will be looking at speech, stories and storytelling! Hard work I hear you say! Not for brilliant Year 3’s! Attached are PowerPoints to help you understand before you complete the activities.

Day 1 – Y3_Week 11_Day 1

Play and listen to http://player.hamilton-trust.org.uk/story_telling_display.php?cid=134 what was your favourite part?
Read The Mice’s Week, follow instructions to practise commas in a list then plan a what the mice find on Saturday
Write a SHORT story about what the mice find on Saturday and Sunday – use commas in a list.

Day 2-Y3_Week 11_Day 2

Watch – http://player.hamilton-trust.org.uk/story_telling_display.php? again , answer the questions verbally.

Write suggestions about How to be a storyteller, read Storytelling advice .

Read The Little Story Who Didn’t Want To Be Told (GR_The_Little_Story_who_didnt_want_to_be_Told) and answer the questions verbally.
Look at Questions on the Story and complete
Watch https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/16940749 or https://www.readersdigest.ca/home-garden/pets/5-incredibly-intelligent-animals/ or think of a clever animal – it might be your pet (if you have one), on My Clever Animal write a descriptive paragraph then another paragraph about what it does.

Day 4 –Y3_Week 11_Day 4

Story Time- re-read the story
Direct Speech- use the powerpoint (Powerpoint_puctuating_direct_speech) to help remind you
Writing dialogue- write your conversation down on Cat Chat

Day 5- Y3_Week 11_Day 5

Summarise your opinions about the story you read and you heard. (do this verbally)
Planning a story- look at pages 5-11, choose 2 characters from this part, use My Story Planner and plan direct speech for your characters and what will happen.
Write the story in mini book, use conjunctions to link sentences together and illustrate it.

Conjunctions and Prepositons with audio for additional support.
