Kind regards,

Reception’s Star of the Week

Congratulations Kyresse who is Mrs Sturrock and Mrs Evan’s ‘Star of the Week’ this week for coming to school every day with a big smile on his face and a super attitude. Well done Kyresse.

Year 1 Nature Walk

We had a great time on our nature walk this afternoon, looking at the seasonal changes and identifying some leaves. We learnt about holly, hawthorn, oak and ivy.

Reception’s Brilliant ‘Belonging Boxes’!

Today in RE, Reception shared the BRILLIANT ‘Belonging Boxes’ they had created over the half term holidays.

The children shared their belonging boxes with the class and talked about what their box tells us about them and where they ‘belong’ in the world.

We looked at similarities and differences between everyone’s boxes and celebrated how everyone is different.

We then thought carefully about which kind of ‘belonging’ matters to them most. We discussed how belonging to families might matter more than belonging to a city, but both have their place.

Look at our ‘Belonging Boxes’. Aren’t they fantastic!

Gates/register

We are pleased that the introduction of an earlier start allows us to ensure we can offer the best start to the day to all children.

Just a reminder that the registers are taken at 8:40 each morning, with the classroom doors opening at 8:35.

Thank you

Walking home alone / collection of siblings

As a school, the minimum age at which we feel comfortable with allowing children to walk home alone is Year 4.

We will need prior written consent from a parent or carer to allow children to leave by themselves or with an older sibling.

If your child is in Reception / Year 1 / Year 2 / Year 3, we will only release them to an adult.

Thank you

Miss Cook

GATEWAY Project

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you so much for your kind donations towards our GATEWAY project.

We aim to open the project on Monday 7th November.

There will be a large box in the parent shelter by the main school reception. This is the ‘take’ box. If you are struggling and would benefit from taking a few items to get you by, then please help yourselves (don’t forget to bring a bag!).  No one will be supervising this box as we trust parents.

Just into the main school office door on the left, will be another identical box. This is the ‘give’ box. Should you have the ability to buy even one extra item when you are carrying out your weekly shop, please pop it in this box for us to then add into our GATEWAY stock.

Staff and Governors are also very keen to contribute to this project.

We are hopeful we can all support our community over the coming winter months.

Your continued support in this project will, we know, be very much appreciated.

Miss Cook

Parents’ Evening

Parents’ Evenings
So far we have had 300 parents’ appointments made. If you haven’t yet tried to log on to the new system, please can you do so today or tomorrow. There have been a few technical issues, which have now be resolved, but we were only made aware when some parents struggled to log in. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you are unable to book an appointment on the system. The booking system closes on Friday 4th November at lunchtime. Many thanks.

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

This year we are again supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We will be selling poppy resources to raise the much-needed funds for this worthwhile cause.

Children can buy paper poppies at school, by bringing their donation to their classroom. The poppy will be given out at the end of the day to take home.

Selling of paper poppies and other resources will start from Wednesday 2nd November until Friday 11th November.

We do have a number of other poppy themed resources that will only be available to purchase after the school day, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. These items can be taken home for safekeeping!

Please see the attached information with details of the items which you can buy.

Zip Pulls – 50p

Reflectors – 50p

Silicon Bands – £1.00
