Children in need fundraising

We are very excited to announce that children in Year 4 will be taking part in a ’Big Fancy Dress Singalong’ in aid of Children in Need to help raise money for child mental health projects. The children will be filmed by the BBC and the video will be on local social media via BBC Radio Shropshire’s Facebook page.

We hope that you will help us to raise money for this worthy cause by following the link below:

Reception Castle Banquet and Share Aware Week

On Monday we had lots of fun at our castle banquet. Thank you for providing the wonderful costumes.

On Tuesday we took part in our Share Aware Lesson. We discussed that we must be respectful to all people and that girls and boys can play with any type of toy. We took turns in circle time to say why these toys were our favourite.

Newdale Families – Religion Census October 2021

We hope you have all settled back into the school routines for this academic year. My name is Miss McCullagh and this year I will be co-ordinating Religious Education at Newdale.

To help us understand more about our families, we would really like an updated picture of the different religions, beliefs and values held by the children, and families, within our Newdale community. This will support us in ensuring that our Religious Education offer is as inclusive as possible for our community.

We would be really grateful if you could spend 5 minutes completing the survey below, by Tuesday 19th October.

Thank you in advance, for you support 😊

Reception Royal Banquet

Thank you for providing wonderful costumes today for our royal banquet in reception.
Great fun was had by all! We had a feast fit for a King or Queen outside in the sunshine, followed by dancing and party games. A real celebration of all the wonderful work we have been doing.

Reception Banquet 👑

Reception Royal Banquet

A reminder that on Monday 11th October, we will be holding our Royal Banquet. Children are invited to bring in a change of clothes for the party in a bag to change into after lunch. This can be a costume, such as a King, Queen, dragon, Knight, etc. or just party clothes if you would prefer. This will be instead of forest school, so you do not need kits for this that day. We will share our photos with you afterwards.

Star of the Week 💫

Well done Elena for a wonderful week in school, earning you our star of the week award.
You ALWAYS work so hard, follow the smart code, are very helpful and kind to your friends too. We are so proud. 😊

Halloween event

On 22nd October, we will be inviting your children to either dress down or wear Halloween fancy dress. We would like them to bring their costume in a bag to change into – they will need to wear school uniform before then. Please do not send in face paints, as we are not able to apply it for them. Due to restrictions, our teachers are planning lots of exciting activities that they can carry out in their classes, including Halloween arts and crafts. If your child chooses to bring in a costume on that day, please can any Halloween themed props be left at home e.g hats and masks are fine to bring in.

Harvest Celebrations in Reception

In Reception, we have been learning about Harvest. We know that it is a special festival celebrated in Autumn as a thank you for the crops that have been grown this year. As part of our work we have discovered who celebrates Harvest and how. We read ‘The Little Red Hen’ book all about a hard-working hen who grows some wheat and turns it into bread. We then made our own delicious bread. Yum! We learnt some Autumn songs and have enjoyed learning about the Autumn season, looking at typical signs such as the leaves changing colour and falling from the trees. Using both Harvest and Autumn as inspiration, we have completed amazing crafts such as our Red Hen handprints and leaf crowns.

We hope you enjoy our video, where we are so proud to show you all the amazing things we have been up to…

Thank you for the donations to our Harvest Festival back in school.
