Notice of Parent Governor Election and Request for Nominations

We recognise and value the expertise and many varied skills parents can bring to our Governing Body.
We are soon to have a vacancy and as such, I am writing to invite parents, guardians, and carers of registered pupils to put their names forward for election. The term of office of the elected candidates will start on 1st February 2021 and will last for 4 years. (Of course should circumstances change during this 4 year term, there is the option to leave at an earlier date).

Please open the link below to view all of the details.

Year 2 Spelling activity – Monday 7th December

Jumping Orange Words.

Hi everybody, to help you learn your spellings today we have got two puzzles for you to do. The first is a wordsearch (I know you love doing these!) and the second is a Word Scramble sheet. Can you unscramble the letters to make your spelling words? Perhaps you could test one of your grown ups by scrambling one of the words yourself for them to unscramble.

Please email a photo of your work to ‘newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk’ or post on the school website year 2 homework blog.

Year 2 – Mrs Thomas’s Phonics Group – Monday 7th December

Hi all, today we are going to play an online game to help us practise using all of our Phase 5 sounds. I hope you haven’t forgotten any. The game is called ‘Phonics Frog’.

You have to help the frog to cross the road by clicking when it is safe and then cross the river by jumping on the logs that have real words written on them. See how far you can get your frog without hurting him/her.

After you click on the play button, click the ‘Revise all’ button (shown below) so that you get to see words using lots of different sounds.

Have fun and look after your frog!

Monday Home Learning – Maths

Happy Sunday Year 2! We hope you have had a relaxing weekend.

Your child should have received an invite to this session however if not you can ‘join’ the meeting through the Teams app.

Children will need paper and a pen handy for the session.

Following the lesson, the questions on the sheet below should be answered.  You do not need to print this sheet but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.

*Please select the correct worksheet for your child, depending on which group they are in for Maths*
