W app

It has been brought to our attention that some children in school have signed up to an app called ‘W app’. W app is designed for children to engage in anonymous polls within their school community. The app has some e-safety risks due to it requiring children to share their personal information, including their school’s name. The nature of the app also has the potential to cause upset amongst its users and other children in school.

Please regularly check your child’s online activity.  It is also important for children and young people to be aware of what they are sharing online and who might see it.

If you need more support or guidance with online safety, please contact a staff member or send us an email newdale.primary@taw.org.uk

Safeguarding, H&S Governors

Governors met with children and discussed their experiences regarding the recent Healthy Lifestyles Week.  It was very evident that the children thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. Governors questioned the learning outcomes of the event and were impressed with the children’s answers as to what they could improve on personally following the week and what they have learnt.

Governors approved and scrutinised a number of safeguarding policies. Governors carried out an audit and were again satisfied that their understanding about policies and procedures regarding safeguarding is robust.

Year 6 trip reminder

A polite reminder of the Year 6 trip to Telford Town Park tomorrow.

Please can all children wear school uniform, with trainers, as well as a water bottle and waterproof coat in their bags should the weather change. Lunch will be provided from Pizza Hut and so there is no need for a packed lunch, unless your child does not wish to have the food given.

Many thanks,

Year 6 team.

Final call for crisp packets!

Thank you for all of your contributions of used crisp packets for the crisp packet project.

This will be the final week we will be collecting the crisp packets, so please continue to bring them in to school for us to send off at the end of the week. Friday will be the last day to bring them in.

Again, thank you all for your contributions to a great cause!

Last day of term

As you are all aware, our last day of this academic year is Monday 24th July 2023. To celebrate the end of the school year, we are having a summer celebration with the children, including our nursery children. Children will be able to come into school in dress down clothes. We will not be serving hot dinners on this day, but children can order school sandwiches or bring in their own packed lunch to enjoy at the picnic. The timings of the school day will remain the same. Please note that this is a statutory day; therefore, we expect to see all children as we would during the rest of the term.

Thank you

Newdale Team
