Important Notice – School Access Arrangements for the Final Week of Term

We would like to inform parents and carers of a temporary change to school access arrangements during the final week of term, starting this afternoon.

From pick-up time today, the Phase 3 gate (by the Year 6 classrooms) will be closed and out of use due to boundary improvement works that are taking place over the summer holiday period. The contractors are beginning this week.

To access the main playground, please use the gates located by the staff car park through the quiet area. These gates will remain open for drop-off and collection times while the works are underway.

We kindly ask all parents and carers to allow a little extra time and take care when entering and leaving the site.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we carry out these important improvements to the school grounds.

Reminder – Meet Your Child’s New Teacher

Just a reminder that your child’s new teacher will be in your child’s current classroom at 3:10pm until 3:30pm on Wednesday 15 July.

This is an informal opportunity for parents/carers to meet their new teacher before September and put a face to the name.

Please note that Miss Moore will not be available on this day, as she was available to meet parents last Wednesday.

We look forward to seeing you then.

Careers Day in Year 1.

Careers Day Fun! 👩‍⚕️👮‍♂️🚔

Mrs Sturrock’s class had a fantastic time during our Careers Day today. We learned about lots of different jobs and discussed where money comes from.

We were also lucky enough to welcome some very special visitors: a real doctor and three police officers! The doctor showed us some of the equipment she uses to care for her patients, and we even had the chance to listen to each other’s heartbeats.

The police officers gave us a tour of their police car – the siren was very loud! They also showed us the protective clothing they wear to keep themselves safe while doing their important jobs. We were surprised by how heavy it was.

To finish off our exciting day, we even dressed Mrs Sturrock up in the police uniform! We all had lots of fun while learning about the important roles people play in our community.

A big thank you to our visitors for helping to make our Careers Day so memorable. 🌟

Year 5 – Careers Day

As a part of careers day, Year 5 had a visit from an author named Joseph Allen, who writes fantasy books for children. Joe shared his planning books and his stories with the children and helped them to create their own character for a story. He then read an extract of his latest book!

The children absolutely loved learning about his work 😊

Year 1 Water fight Friday Afternoon (10.7.26)

Good afternoon,

As you are aware, tomorrow is expected to be very hot. The children had so much fun during our water fight in the last heatwave that we have decided to organise another one as a special way to help them cool down tomorrow afternoon.

Please can your child bring something suitable for the water fight, such as a named water pistol. We will also provide additional equipment for the children to use.

The water fight will take place at the end of the school day, so please be aware that the children may come home a little damp. If your child attends ASC, they are welcome to bring a change of clothes.

The children have coped exceptionally well with the recent hot weather and thoroughly deserve a bit of fun!

Thank you for your support.

Year 6 Leavers’ Festival Information

Good afternoon,

Year 6 will have their leavers’ assembly and festival on Friday 17th July from 1-3pm. Please go straight to the hall for the assembly to start at 1pm. There are spare tickets available which will be put onto ParentPay for those that would like further tickets.

We would like to thank parents for your kind donation to put towards our exciting end-of-year celebration. We have organised activities such as bubble football, a silent disco, a quiet area and garden games.

Children will be able to come to school on the final day in festival clothing – think bright colours, glitter and festival accessories!

This year, we will also be providing food and drink which can be purchased on the day. This will be cash only please and includes: hot dogs, chocolate crunch, ice cream and drinks (prices range from 50p to £1.50). Please rest assured that vegetarian and gluten free options will be available for the children with dietary requirements. Please bring picnic blankets and foldable chairs should you need a place to rest.

Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

The Year 6 Team
