Y6 SATs Breakfast Club

Dear Parents/Carers,

During SATs week, we will be running our free Year 6 SATs Breakfast Club each morning to help pupils start the day calmly and confidently.

If your child prefers familiar foods, we kindly suggest that they have breakfast at home beforehand so that they feel settled and ready for their assessments. They are still welcome to eat at Breakfast Club, but this will ensure they are already well‑fuelled for the morning.

Please return the permission slip by Wednesday 6th May 2026 so we can plan numbers and catering.

As part of our approach to SATs, and with everyone’s wellbeing at the forefront of our minds, we will be going on our Nature Walk on the afternoon of Wednesday 13th May during SATs week. This will give the children a chance to relax, reset and enjoy some time outdoors after their assessments that day.

If the weather is good, please ensure your child has sun cream and a sun hat.

Thank you for your support.

Year 2 will be holding a Bake Sale today (Monday 27th April) taking place after school from 3:10pm to 3:45pm. This will be on the bottom playground. Families from across the school are warmly invited to come along and purchase some delicious treats.

The bake sale is to help raise funds for their upcoming science and literacy topic, they will be observing real eggs in school and watching them hatch into chicks. This hands‑on project will give pupils the chance to observe, care for, and write about the chicks as they grow, creating a memorable and engaging learning opportunity.

We hope you can come along a support us today.

Message for Reception – cress!

Good evening,
We hope you are enjoying growing your little pots of cress at home. Some children sent in a photo of their growing seeds to share in class and everyone loved looking at them. If you haven’t and would like to send in some photos of the cress growth, then children can proudly share these back in class. Please send in via the Evidence Me app.
Thank you.

Message for Reception

Good evening,
Please can we remind you to ensure you bring in your child’s Read. Write, Inc reading books into school in their plastic packets, along with reading diaries everyday. We change them weekly, but we do take these along to sessions so it is essential that they are in school for when needed.
Thank you for your continued support at home.

Have a lovely weekend.

May Is Get Caught Reading Month!

Throughout May, we are celebrating Get Caught Reading Month — a wonderful chance to shine a spotlight on the joy of reading!

We would love your help in capturing our children in the act of reading. Please send in a photo of your child enjoying a book. This could be:

  • Reading in their favourite cosy spot
  • Reading outdoors in the sunshine
  • Reading to a sibling, pet or teddy
  • Reading something unusual or fun (comics, magazines, recipes, signs, etc.)
  • Reading in an unexpected place — creativity encouraged!

You can either:
– Print the photo and send it into school, or
– Email it to your child’s year group email address

We will be creating a lovely display to celebrate all the wonderful readers in our school.

Thank you for helping us promote a lifelong love of reading! 📖💛
