Be Bright, Be seen

Dear Parents/Carers,

As part of our drive to ensure all of our children from reception to Y6 are kept safe on and near the roads, we have decided to give each child a fluorescent ‘bag tag’ for Christmas.

These will be handed out today for year groups. However, we are still waiting on the reception delivery. These will be handed out next week.

Please can you ensure your child has it attached to their bags so that cars have a better chance of seeing them.

Many thanks

Miss Cook

Headteacher

School meals

Dear Parents/Carers,

Our school kitchen do a wonderful job at lunchtimes, offering healthy, nutritious and filling food for the children. I’m sure you can appreciate just how hard it is for them to ensure every child gets what they really would like!

Our system is that children tell their teacher in the morning whether they would like a school dinner, school sandwich or have brought their own packed lunch that day. This means the kitchen have enough notice to prepare the correct amount of sandwiches etc.

Of late, staff have noticed children changing their mind at the last minute! We totally get that when children get to the hall and see/smell the choices, that this could happen. However, as you can imagine, this unfortunately leads to wasted food, which also equates to wasted money. Could you please help us by reminding your child that what they order in the morning, is what they need to eat at lunch. Attached is our latest menu so you can help your child decide each day.

Many thanks for your support

Miss Buckingham’s Class are the BeSMART Cup Winners!

I am very proud of my brilliant class for winning the BeSMART Cup on Friday. The children have chosen to watch a film together snuggled up with a snack on Thursday!

For our movie afternoon, the children are allowed to bring in a dressing gown, onesie or blanket to pop over the top of their uniform as well as slippers on Thursday after lunch (19.10.23). The snack will be provided by school.

Keep up the good work following the BeSMART code!

Mrs King’s class are BeSMART cup winners!

Children are invited to bring in a toy tomorrow (Tuesday 10.10.2023)

Can we ask that the toys are not electrical or things they do not want to share

Unfortunately, football cards are banned as they can cause arguments when swapped.

 Many thanks,

Mrs King.

Grandparents Tea Party

Wednesday 18th October 2023

We will once again be holding our annual grandparent’s tea party on Wednesday 18th October 2023. This year, we kindly request a donation of £2 per grandparent. The closing date to book this event is Friday 13th October at midday. You will receive tickets once you have booked on ParentPay from Monday 16th.

We respectfully ask that only Grandparents attend this event. Prior to the event, we ask that parents log into ParentPay to make payment for the event and to confirm numbers of Grandparents attending – this will ensure we have enough cake and biscuits! Please also confirm whether your child will leave school with their grandparent. For safeguarding reasons, they will not be able to do so unless this has been confirmed via ParentPay.

On the day, could all Grandparents arrive at school for 2.00pm at the main entrance where you will then be escorted to your Grandchild’s class (if you have more than one, we will try to gather them all together!).

You will spend around 30 minutes in the classroom where we hope you will enjoy some time sharing harvest craft activities with the children.

At 2.30pm you will be invited to come to one of our refreshment areas with your Grandchildren for tea and cake / biscuits. We know it is tempting to sneak extra treats for your Grandchildren, but please do not, as we will only have catered for Grandparents. Children will get a drink and a biscuit!

Just before home time, all Grandparents and children will return to the class of the youngest sibling and can leave school via the classroom doors (with children if this has been arranged); from there, Grandparents may collect from other classrooms in the usual way.

Donations: we are passionate about offering real-life experiences for all of our children and your payment (which can be more than £2 if you wish) will support us not only in providing you with cake (!) but also subsidising our trips and visits offer for everyone.
