Finance & Personnel Governors Involvement

The Finance and Personnel Governors met on the 23rd October. They looked carefully at school finances and paid attention to the 3 year projection plan that had been prepared by the school finance officer. Governors had a staffing update and could see how the rising numbers of complex needs was adding pressure to the budget over time. Governors reviewed the staff well being audit findings and looked forward to some of the staff who are currently on Maternity leave returning in January. They were reassured that these staff returning would relieve pressure across the school.

Year One Messages

Well done to all the children in Year One for settling in well this half term and working hard in their lessons.

Some reminders for next half term…

Our PE days will stay the same. Tuesday Gymnastics and Friday Basket Ball with the crossbar coaches outside.

We will be starting our Forest School lessons on a Wednesday afternoon, starting on Wednesday 5th November. Please remember to send your child to school in their school uniform with their Forest School clothes (labelled) for them to change into after lunch.

Just a polite reminder of the reading expectation. Children need to bring their reading diary and Read Write Inc reading books to school each day. We ask parents to listen to their child read their Read Write Inc books at home a minimum of 3 times per week.

On return to school please ensure your child’s clothes and belongings are all clearly labelled.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely half term break.

Year 1’s Halloween Party

Year One had a great time today dressing up in spooky outfits and taking part in Halloween games and activities.

We enjoyed dancing at our Halloween disco and relaxing with a biscuit after.

It was all great fun and don’t we look fantastic!

Message – Lost property and home time.

Good evening,
As you can see, now Autumn is in full swing, we are experiencing both warm and wet weather. Because of this, the children are taking coats, jumpers and cardigans on and off more frequently whilst playing outside at break and lunchtimes. Please can you help us by ensuring that their uniform and coats are labelled with their full name so that we can easily and quickly partner up clothes again with the right person.

It can be quite a challenge to man the doors at home time and search for lost belongings at the same time. Our priority has to be ensuring that each child returns to the correct person collecting them.

We would like to reassure you that we always encourage the children to hang their jumpers and coats on their peg when they take them off, and also to bring them in from the playground. Unfortunately despite reminders, the children can get easily distracted when they are busy playing or having fun so getting mixed up with other uniform is inevitable.

We would appreciate if you would please wait until all children have been sent home with their adult collecting before sending your child back in to look for their belongings, so staff can ensure children are sent out safely.  If your child’s belongings have not been left in class, then please do accompany your child to the lost property box after school to search for items found on the playground.

Thank you for your support and patience at home time.

NSPCC PANTS workshop

We’re excited to let you know that our school will be hosting a PANTS workshop for parents/carers delivered by the NSPCC on Thursday 6th November from 2:30-3:00pm. This important session helps children understand the PANTS rules, which teaches them how to stay safe from abuse in a simple, age-appropriate way.

Before the workshop, children will take part in a PANTS-themed assembly, introducing them to the key messages in a fun and engaging way. Then, they’ll receive a very special visit from Pantosaurus, the NSPCC’s friendly dinosaur who helps make learning about safety memorable and enjoyable.

We’re also pleased to share that we’ll be launching more PANTS activities in January, continuing to build on the children’s understanding and confidence around this vital topic.

The workshop and follow-up activities are part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and empowering our pupils with knowledge that helps keep them safe both in and out of school.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the PANTS campaign, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with school.

Please see below flyer attached for details regarding the workshop. If you would like to attend, please book a free place via ParentPay.
