Nursery ‘Winter Wonderland’

Christmas plans!

Dear parents / carers,

Our Basecamp at the area at the front of school will be turned into a ‘Winter Wonderland’ experience. We have asked the elves to start planning this wonderful event!

We will be inviting Ladybugs, Mighty Oaks and children who do not normally attend the Nursery on a Tuesday to visit the Winter Wonderland experience, each child will be allowed to invite one adult to accompany them – this may be any adult you would like to attend. We know that some parents will be disappointed as only one adult can attend per child, but we have to play it as safely as we can in order to protect children and staff as we approach the Christmas holiday. Please can we ask that you stick to one adult so that we can manage numbers safely.  The experience will last approximately half an hour.  Which will include ‘a Christmas sing a long’. There will be a small gift for every child. We will be offering hot chocolate and a festive treat to all who attend and only ask that you bring your own mug for your and your child (we are doing our bit for the environment!) and make a donation which this year is going towards purchases for the All Nations Community Grocery  communitygrocery.org.uk/telford

On the day of the experience, children will be invited to come to Nursery in their Christmas jumpers / hats – you are more than welcome to get into the spirit too!

The date for the Nursery visit is Tuesday 7th December.  Information regarding time  slots for your child will be sent home this week.

We will be watching the weather forecast closely and we hope that the weather is on our side! Likewise, we will be monitoring the situation with regards to covid and following all recommended guidance. Should we need to make any changes, we will try to let you know as soon as possible.

We hope that you will be able to join us in celebrating Christmas this year.

Kind regards

Miss Cook

Covid Information for Nursery Parents/Carers

Dear parents / carers,

We are finding that there are some children who are coming into Nursery suffering from symptoms which may be a sign that they may have the Covid-19 virus.

If children come into Nursery with a main symptom e.g. coughing, then they will be sent home and are advised to have a full PCR test. This guidance is from the Health protection hub and is in place to try to minimise the spread of infection.

Christmas Cards from Home

Dear Parents and Carers,

Despite everything that is going on in the outside world, here at Newdale we want to hold onto as many traditions as we can.

We know that Christmas cards and kind gifts sent in for staff are a huge part of Christmas and we are keen for the children to be able to swap cards safely. In order for this to happen, we will be asking you to do the following –

Please do not allow your children to lick the envelopes for obvious reasons.

Cards must only be brought in the week beginning 7th December. The last date that we can accept cards will be Friday 11th December. We will not be accepting any cards past this date.

The reason for this is that once the cards are brought in, they will be isolated in a sealed box. Following an isolation period, the cards will then be distributed to the children in the week beginning 14th December.

If we were to receive cards in after the cut off date, we would not be able to isolate them in time to send out. Please do not send any cards or gifts in after the 11th as we will not be able to accept them.

Thank you for your continued support.

Nursery – Collection

From tomorrow Thursday 3rd September, we kindly ask that children in Mighty Oaks be dropped off and collected from the nursery garden at the rear of the school.  Access is via the main school gates, turning right and following the path to the school hall/delivery bay, you will see the garden on your left.  Thank you.

After school club arrangements – September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are delighted to be able to re-open our after school club in September as we know that many people rely on it to support their family needs.

The costs of this provision remain the same:

3.10pm – 4.30pm   £5.50

3.10pm – 6.00pm    £9.00

Many schools are suspending wrap-around-care but we very much want to be able to continue to support working parents. Be assured that we are very conscious of the need to abide by the government advice and guidelines concerning the ongoing Covid-19 threat, and therefore there will be some inevitable alterations to our provision.

Children will be grouped in bubbles and these groups will not mix. We will be keeping very clear records in case we have need of the ‘track and trace’ process.

Timings of ASC will remain the same but we must stress that if you have booked your child in until 6 pm then you will need to have collected them promptly as our site closes at 6 pm.

Collection will be slightly different as outlined below:

For collection of children before 4.30 pm, the office will be manned up until this time. You will be able to buzz through from the main entrance (do not enter the school building) and a member of staff in the office will radio through to ASC to have your child sent to you.

For collections of children after 4.30 pm, the double doors at the back of the hall will be your new collection point as it is a larger outdoor area in which to wait once the office is no longer manned. One of the ASC bubbles will be in the hall and their member of staff will radio though to the other bubbles as required to send for your child.

If you will require an after school place in September, we now need to know in advance exactly who will be attending and for how long. Please contact school in order to book your child in. We need as much notice as possible so that we can be confident in our staffing and room allocation. No same day bookings will be accepted for this reason.

Kind regards

Miss Cook
