Annual Parent/ Carer Survey Autumn 2020

We would appreciate your views to help plan the rest of this year, so we can continue to improve further. Please complete and return the survey via your child’s communication book by Thursday 22nd October. For each question, please tick the score from 1 (not very happy) to 5 (very happy) and add any comments you would like (comments are not essential, but can be most useful). We will then include the survey’s findings in future planning.

All returned surveys will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £50 ASDA vouchers.

Our SMART code and positive behaviour strategy in EYFS

As you know, at school we encourage good behaviour and respect for everyone, including all staff, all children, all parents and visitors too! We expect these high standards and in return everyone is committed to providing the best education we can, keeping everyone safe and happy to come to school. Our most recent Ofsted noted that

‘The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. In class, pupils are attentive and responsive to their teachers, do their best and take pride in their work. On the playground, they get along with good-natured ease and, when upsets do happen, pupils do their best to help out. In other informal situations, such as in clubs or in the dining hall, pupils enjoy one another’s company and display good humour and polite manners. Children soon come to understand that the school’s rules and expectations are fair and that nothing less than their best behaviour is acceptable.’ Ofsted 2017

We have recently reviewed our behaviour policy to take into account the guidance we have received around the social distancing regulations and behaviours which may cause distress to others.  A copy of this is available to view on our website. We use the S M A R T Code at Newdale to make sure that all of our children are rewarded for their positive behaviour and helped to learn from situations where a consequence is needed. These are 5 easy, positive rules to follow:
