Sporting achievement board

Lots of children take part in some wonderful, varied sports outside of school and we would love for them to celebrate their achievements with the other children and staff (no matter how big or small).  Mrs Goodwin has been busy creating an achievement board where children can share certificates, pictures or medals with a small write up about the event.  If you would like to send anything into school to be included, you can either pass on to the class teacher, or e-mail us at newdale.primary@taw.org.uk

Many thanks

Our first music lesson of 2020 🎵

We really enjoyed our first lesson of the term with Mr Wilcox. This term we are focussing on music from Asia. Today we created different patterns on the chime bars. We are going to be learning a song called ‘Gung Hay Fat Choy’, which means Happy New Year in Chinese. 🇨🇳

The Great Fire of London!

We have had a wonderful morning launching our new topic; ‘The Great Fire of London’. We learned about the event and acted it out in small groups. We have started some fire artwork… take a look at our painting so far. We will show you our masterpieces next week!

Can you remember why the fire spread so quickly?

The Great Fire of London 🔥

Year 1 began their new history topic today! We enjoyed acting out the disastrous event. We then started some fantastic fire art work. Here is a peak at painting in action. The final masterpiece will be completed next week!

Can your child tell you where the Great Fire of London started?

Year 1 Phonics Assembly

A reminder that this Thursday afternoon is our Year 1 phonics assembly at 2pm.

Let’s Dine School Meals Competition

At Lets Dine we  are always working towards providing  healthy meal choices, supporting the reduction of  obesity in schools and supporting schools with their universal infant free school meal uptake as it’s a free meal. To promote this work we are  launching a school meals competition. All pupils in Reception to Year 6 classes (key stage 1and 2 only) which are catered by Let’s Dine are eligible to enter whether they are paid or free meals.

To enter the competition pupils will need to have a school meal (hot or cold) for 40 days between 13 January 2020 and 27 March 2020.

Prizes include:

  • 2 iPads

  • a family ice hockey ticket
  • a hamper
  • a skiing party ticket
  • a family foot golf/driving range ticket
  • 4 Sky Reach tickets
  • a book voucher
  • 2 Area 51 tickets.

Prizes will be randomly drawn. Winners will be invited to a prize drawing event where prizes will be drawn at random. The school where the lucky winner attends  will receive a free Eatwell session (a session where 8 children prepare fresh ingredients, make a dish using those ingredients and eat what they have made).

Entries will be recorded on a cashless system against pupil’s accounts when they have a meal. At the end of the competition the system will produce a list of pupil’s names who have had 40 or more school meals. These names will be entered in a random name generator.

Those schools that do not have a cashless system will be collated at site and the names added to the final list.
